Just because he was prepared to travel for Povetkin 2 years ago doesn't mean anything now.
They're both world champions striving for a unification match. In a perfect world, they would fight somewhere on a neutral ground.
AJ is the A side, quite clearly. Wilder has probably doubled his highest pay packet of $2m if his next fight is against Brezeale just by piggy backing off Joshuas name.
AJ has 3 belts, an ATG on his record, fights in front of 90k live audiences, sells millions of PPV and earns $30m+ per fight.
Wilder has 1 belt, nobody on his record, cannot sell out small arenas, cannot sell PPVs and earns $2m per fight.
It doesnt take a genius to work out who is the champion and who is the challenger.
Just because Wilder happens to live in a bigger country which has history of generating more money in these type of events, it doesn't make him A side in any way and he deserves no 'fairness' when he already has a shot at all the belts and all the financial uptake. He stands to gain more from a win than Joshua relative to their current status.

The thing about Johnson and his team turning down the offer is they should essentially have to pay Wilder the same or more that he would have been standing to make in the bigger money fight. Are they willing to cover that? Because it is their choice to devalue the event not Wilder's so he should not have to suffer for that choice.
Wilder should be paid well to travel every other title holder is so if he was standing to make X in the $50 million fight that would be in Vegas (which I wouldn't exactly call Wilder's back yard) he should be making x+ to go to the UK. If they can't do that is a pretty bad look on Hearn's and Johnson's part. Wilder should more than likely still do that fight but I could see where it would be off putting if their offer was not up to par.
