relax... it will happen, this is the biggest HW match-up since lewis vs tyson. but both fighters need to build their popularity more, none of them reach "global superstar" status yet. for me personally it will be ****** MOVE if they fight this year.

assuming both fighter keep winning and k.o everybody out this will be super mega fight in early 2020. the money generate will be more than enough to make everybody involved have early retirements.

at this stage is bussines not a sport.

this will happen because it will generate massive money, and both side marinate it to achieve that. maybe glory and all that **** matter a little bit but 90% is all about the MONEY.

why do you think Bowe vs Lewis did not happen?? because second fight with Holyfield or even waiting for tyson release will generate more money in to everybody pocket, except lewis ofcourse.

Yes, a longer build up could deliver a bigger fight but it's not so simple as that. One of the marketing angles for this fight is that each man is undefeated. They're heavyweights however, neither of them with perfect defences and each one missed punch away from losing in any match. So marinate it too long and one or both loses their '0' and the fight loses some lustre.

Secondly, AJ has multiple belts which means lots of mandatories to juggle. He won't want to try and keep all these belts indefinitely, it will tie his hands in pursuing the most lucrative fights. Better also to have a couple of belts out there so that more unification fights can take place in future. So ideally he will want to achieve undisputed status sooner rather than later, make history and then vacate one or more of the belts.
