Dexamethasone is in the world anti-doping agency list of prohibited items only during competition and not BEFORE competition, because it is misused by certain long distance athletes like cyclists and marathon runners when they are competing in high altitudes. Lee Chong Wei's competition was held in Copenhagen Denmark, a country ranked 225 in the "List of countries by highest point". That means if it were detected in the off season or before a competition, it would not be considered unlawful. According to Tan Sri Dr Mani Jegathesan, the chairman of the Medical and Anti-doping Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia, the substance is considered to affect performances indirectly.

I have no idea. This drug is brand new to me. I'm learning too and could be miserably wrong.

When I read corticosteroid I was thinking about creams and stuff. I got some anti-itch cream for poison ivy that has corticosteroids in it. Jock itch creams have corticosteroids in them too right?
