I notice that I don't see too many people in the sports world saying that Wilder should wait, or have 1 or 2 more fights. I wonder why?

Isn't 40 fights enough? I agree with Jones, I think AJ is yet to reach his prime and a couple of fights would make him come closer to that. Wilder, on the other hand, IMO at least, does not improve anymore. He just turns on his windmill and starts waiving like a bloody psychopath. Its effective though.

Problem for Joshua is he is stuck between a rock (Wilder) and a hard place (Povetkin). If he wins either of those fights though he deserves big props

I think Joshua's team and fans are simply looking to protect their fighter. Joshua is a promoter's DREAM...Hearn is in such a great position to have Joshua, a UK, HW Champion, who just beat a legend in Wlad, who is tall, muscular, charming, good looking, etc.

Hearn has no intention on "giving that up" without getting as much return out of that kind of fight as possible. If Hearn and AJ can't get as much on their side and their way for a fight with Wilder now, then they will move forward with their marketable system and make as much money and fame as possible.

People shouldn't forget that Hearn is in business for himself too. He doesn't want to be known as the promoter who caved and fed boxing's most marketable fighter to a dangerous foe for anything less than "everything".

Hearn is his promoter. Hearn advises him on the best course of action to take. Hearn likely says "hey, Wilder is so flawed, that he could lose any day now...maybe we make him wait and lose then we don't have to give him the time of day?"...or "Wilder is a big fight..a tough fight..I believe you'll win...but I am here to help make you a star and money..so if we push for this fight, he will not dictate the terms...I am here for YOU..."

I think all of this is more about AJ/Hearn than Wilder. I feel Wilder just wants to be treated like a champion and not a no-name contender. In Wilder's mind, AJ isn't some 10 year, long reigning undisputed champion. He doesn't see AJ as "more" or "better" than him. He sees AJ as another titles and wants to prove who is the best between them.

Bother have their cases. But to make the fight wait for years? No. Do it now!

Bingo! Protect the fighter and ultimately their extremely profitable earning potential.

In my opinion, if you lose In boxing, it should be more like MMA. Your career doesn't just fade into oblivion when you lose one fight.
