A slip should be used to deliver a counter punch ,its to set up your own punch if its done correctly so its not just avoiding punches .
Avoiding a punch is only one step the other is giving one back and not wasting movements . If you are just slipping punches and not being in a position to hit back its wasted movements .
The correct answer to the TS question is positioning ........the position you put yourself in with ANY punch not just a jab to counter the punch being thrown at you while not getting hit is the correct way of slipping shots which requires timing bc you want the opponent to come close to hitting you so theyre close enough to hit , so there is no CORRECT technique .
Slipping the jab itself is usually done away from the opponents power hand and a more skilled fighter will go under the punch making for a harder target to hit while coming back up with shot of their own . ....
Positioning 1st
Timing 2nd ,
Thats how to slip punches correctly including the JAB!Last edited by juggernaut666; 05-21-2018, 02:07 PM.Comment

Lol...there's no way any praise of Ray Corso on this forum is getting by you.Comment
You don't have to be dumb to post on NSB, but it helps.
It's interesting how people don't know the difference between fact and opinion. So you see these endless arguments about opinions that just go on and on.
You also see the 10 year old's "good king-bad king" argument. My guy is 100% good and your guy is 100% bad.
Another bogus argument is "your guy ducked my guy", as if the poster was somehow involved in the negotiations and had insider information on all offers and counter offers.Comment
