  • Comments Thread For: Stevenson's Promoter Impressed With Badou Jack's Performance

Yvon Michel, who promotes WBC light heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson, was very impressed with the performance of challenger Badou Jack. On Saturday night in Toronto, Stevenson started strong - but then faded badly in the second half.

The draw is a fair result. Lost my bet on Stevenson by knockout, but it was a great fight.

After that performance by Jack, I have Gvozdyk finishing Adonis in 10! Badou Jack vs. Marcus Browne or Joe Smith Jr. at the Barclays! Let's Go! Badou Jack vs. the Kovalev/Alvarez winner would be a good one too!

Jack looked good because Stevenson "lefty" never really landed like it should... One of these is usually enough to turn the fight around or simply put it to an end as we've seen so many times with Stevenson... Kudos to Jack for avoiding it and coming back strong in the second half of the fight ...

Jack should fight Beterbiev. Go straight at the boogeyman

Was a great fight. I was surprised by Stevenson's heart to grit it out, even though he was dead tired. I thouhgt he was going to quit on his stool, but he was hungry to hold on to his title. Very good adjustments made by him also when he realized that Jack had neutralized his left with movement. He revealed a very good right hook and inside fighting. He held a little too much, but so did Jack's promoter...:-).

I like all those match-ups!! assuming no immediate rematch, I would rather see the Kovalev/Alvarez winner against Bivol, but Jack fits fine with any of those three or a Marcus Browne with something to prove (think Jack has his way with him).

Stevenson focused and in trim shape can beat Gvozdyk. But he sure gets blown out late if he shows up only ready for 6 rounds again.

Adonis can't afford to sit and wait for that one punch! He loses rounds when he does not throw punches, and he's not effective going backwards.
