He's a class act. He's going to learn from this. Hopefully he gets back into the ring again over the summer and keeps working. He'll be a champion soon. He went after the hardest fighter in the division and had his moments.

Diaz put up a solid effort. I honestly thought he was going to get the victory and thought Russell’s inactivity was going to negatively impact him. I was wrong of course. Hopefully Russell stays more active now since he’s still young and in prime years of his career. Diaz is also young and I’m sure this fight will be a learning experience that he’ll be able to get better from. Solid fight but Russell the clear victor last night.

Not setting up your punches and only using your jab sporadically isn't gonna cut it. That body work was great but after the 7th round Jojo lost the motivation to win the fight.

Respect to both fighters especially to Mr. Russell who put in as solid a performance as one can expect against an equally solid and determined mandatory challenger ......after being off for a whole YEAR!!

Gary was just a tad too slick for Jo Jo while matching him for toughness.

I agree with everything you said here. He stepped up and took his shot which is what a lot of fighters today are not doing. He'll be a champion at some point in the near future.

Diaz does not have much to be down about. He held his own and did very well. He is on his way, great attitude and real good ability. Russell shocked me showed lil to no rust. He is scary when active fast hands and solid power with skills behind it.

Diaz is a big featherweight! He'll eventually be at 130, probably in the next 2 years! Would love to see if his powers transfers to 130! Russell Jr. vs. Geronta Davis @ 130 just makes too much sense! Make it happen!
