I was really surprised at how big Stevenson looked tonight. He looked a lot bigger than he did at the weigh-in. He'd probably have an easier time being at Cruiserweight. I wouldn't bet against Bellew in that fight, regardless of what happened in their fight at light heavyweight. Stevenson isn't as good as some of these people think.

He did not dominated Jack. Winning most of the early rounds and losing most of the late rounds is not dominating. The fight was in his territory so why would the judges rob him? I thought the fight was a legit draw as did good Showtime scorer Farhood. Stevenson is forty and it caught up with him. He will fight again most likely but I think he would lose to Kovalev, Bivol and Jack in a rematch. Unless he cherry picks he won't be champion much longer.

I can see Kovalev letting Adonis have a few extra rounds just to punish him.

Kovalev does smell when his opponent is on the ropes and would go in for the kill. Jack... did not.

Hell, at this point even Bivol would whoop Adonis... although more risk of him getting caught with something.

I hear you but Adonis fights nothing like Pascal. Second, you don't play around just so you can punish him when the guy has one punch KO power (for example GGG vs Lemieux).

Pascal is my favorite hometown guy but he was never a technically sound fighter, he always relied on his athleticism. For the simple fact that Adonis actually uses a jab, that alone makes him a better technical boxer than Pascal.

Though, it actually contributed to him tiring up, we've seen yesterday that Adonis won't shy away from a "phone booth fight". As seen twice against Ward, Kovalev wants no part of an inside fight.

Kovalev wants to keep you at the end of his punches with his 72½″ reach. It's a bit trickier to do it against a southpaw with a 77″ reach who also uses his jab and has a rocket launcher for a left hand (just like Kov's right hand I'll admit).

You might be right, but until proven otherwise, I still have Kovalev vs Stevenson as a 50-50 fight.

I would not blame Stevenson for retiring. He doesn't owe Jack a rematch and it's pretty obvious that age has caught up with him. Kovalev would've finished him badly last night.
