Bigger guys are not as affected by punches, and their punches hurt you a lot worse. Especially when their technique is clean, like Mikey's is.

These people who want to pretend that size won't make a difference only need to look at Loma vs Rigo.

I think loma has much better footwork than mikey too and more agile. Its gonna be interesting to see how loma handles mikeys power

No, because the fundamental of the argument was the "equal skill" part. Linares is not at the same skill level as Loma, or Garcia for that matter.
Size wise, he was a little bigger than Loma in the frame but is a fairly skinny guy. Mikey is genuinely larger.

Loma has busier foorwork, but I wouldn't say "better" because they are just different approaches. If footwork was graded by distance covered, Paulie would be a legend. Keep in mind, footwork isn't just travel, it's positioning, as well as punching. Mikey keeps an economy in his footwork but still controls the distance and sets up his shots, which is what footwork is about. he actually has fantastic footwork. Ward and Floyd showed this same kind of thing. You don't need to travel far, you just need to position yourself in the right way.

Look at Marquez and Pac, two completely different kinds of footwork that were equally effective against each other. Loma got dropped for the same reason Pac got finished, sometimes the busier footwork can work against you as much as it can help you.

Garcia's last two fights were at super lightweight against pretty decent comp and he won by decision. He couldn't put either Lipnets or Broner away and they were 5'-6" and 5'-7" respectively. Loma is also 5'-7", yet he is 10 times the boxer that both those guys are. Size does matter obviously, millions of women will tell anyone the same.......but I feel Loma is going to bring something that Mikey hasn't ever delt with before. He himself is extremely skilled and both guys have the mental edge.

I would really like to see this fight, one of those once every 5 year type fights total matchup wise.

Very interesting discussion for real. I think they are both equally skilled in different ways so it makes for an intriguing matchup. I do believe Mikey will catch him and put him down a few times.

He eats alot of Mexican food, if you watch the live streams, Mikey drinks a few beers and eating out all the time. I dont think lomachenko indulges like that if I were to guess.

^That reminds me of an interesting point in the whole discussion, which is that you never know how Mikey is going to play it. You'd think he would play it cautious against the dangerous Zalticinan in his comeback fight. But, he threw the kitchen sink at him. Meanwhile, he was almost inexplicably paced and cautious against Lipinets. Dropping him, but never going for the finish. I really wonder how he'd fight against Loma. If he'd try to assert power, or prefer to box. Lead the exchanges or look to counter. The guy can really play it a lot of different ways so it's an intriguing fight in that respect. You can't really look at any of his fights and say, "this is what will happen".
