Comments Thread For: Adonis Stevenson Weighs In Nearly Two Pounds Lighter Than Jack

Adonis Stevenson strode to the scale Friday afternoon and easily made weight in Toronto. The WBC light heavyweight champion came in at nearly two pounds below the division's limit of 175 pounds. Quebec's Stevenson officially weighed 173 pounds, just about the same as he weighed before his previous two title defenses.

He's losing bone density in his old age.

He's never been a big light-heavyweight, and hopefully being 2lbs under-the-limit suggests that he's in great shape for the fight.

Fighters were originally matched within 2 pounds of each other.
This is the farthest from a boxing headline I've seen.

2lbs is nothing at LHW, I've seen so many fighters coming in below the limit in this division, usually it means a guy is quicker on his feet and looking for speed... Braehmer is a good recent example.

He said something in an interview recently I might have posted about staying in shape all the time (like Floyd does or rather did). That's a big reason why past fighters are often better than current generation because it's always on season, no such thing as an off season. My trainer talked about that all the time how you have to be ready on a moments notice.

A big reason why Floyd is so strong and good at what he did was his was always in shape. No off season for Floyd when he was fighting.

Bring home the knock out Adonis.... I'm still wondering if his age will show in this fight against Jack. That's one of my main concerns. Other than that he has to keep Jack off of him, I believe Jack will come out aggressive in this fight. Adonis might have some spots where he has to weather the storm a bit. I think he'll be good doe!!

Must be preparing for the full 12 rounds. I can't imagine Stevenson outboxing Jack. He has to get a KO or several KDs.
