Dude, you are a clown. Tell the complete story.
HBO failed to lock up Stevenson for the Kov fight with a long term deal. They only locked up Kov. So SHO made an offer to Haymon for Stevenson to kill one of HBO's biggest fights and prevent HBO from reaping the ratings benefits.
Kov asked to be the mando. He got the request. Fight was going to a purse bid then suddenly Kov backed out. HBO made him give that spot up as a condition of resigning him because they didn't want to have the Stevenson/Kov fight on SHO and they reap no benefits of a fight they built up.
Had HBO locked Stevenson up to ensure the fight got made. They messed up. Stevenson took the money and has fought in obscurity sever since.
Kov took the HBO deal and got pushed into a Ward fight where he lost IMO a bad decision ( i had him winning 114-113 over Ward) in a poor selling PPV and then quit in the rematch, hurting his stock.
Both guys had a hand in preventing the fight from happening. Stevenson did 1st, Kov did 2nd. The network war between HBO and SHO cost us this fight moreso than the 2 fighters.Comment

Are you guys serious with this? Duva never asked for a Purse Bid. The WBC ordered the purse bid, and Kathy had to pull out on HBO's orders:
HBO proves shortsighted in blocking potential Kovalev-Stevenson bout
[...…………]
This is why HBO’s decision to block the purse bid is perplexing. And to be clear, it is HBO. Main Events is the face of this, but Duva is simply marching to HBO’s tune. With Haymon gobbling up most of the television real estate, license fees from HBO have become Main Events’s largest source of income. Think Duva fears a Haymon-won purse bid? Come on. A bigger bid puts more money in her pocket. What she fears is damaging the company’s relationship with HBO. Said Duva, “We were not going to destroy our relationship with HBO over a fight that might not even happen.”
Where did you guys get the info that Main Events demanded the purse bid? It's just not true.

I posted he asked to be the mando, which he did. Where did I post Duva or Main Events asked for a purse bid?Comment

You also posted that he then walked away from the fight. Do you really think Kovalev personally wanted to walk away from that fight? That he was scared or something?Comment

I'm talking about Stevenson and Kovalev. I don't know who chickenson or gaymon are.
You don't strike me as someone that knows much about the sport anyway.Comment

I posted the exact same thing you did. Duva asked that Kov be the mando. When it became clear that a purse bid was the only way a deal would get made, Duva/Kov asked not to be the mando.
She simply got outsmarted by Haymon and didn't think about things when she asked for Kov to be the mando.Comment

This is an honest assessment. I can't see how you feel the fight btwn Kovalev and Ward was a one point decision but see it as a bad decision that it went in one point the other direction though. We usually call that a close fight that could have gone either way. But you aren't the first person who says that. Doug Fischer from the Ring, who is obviously a huge jerk, swears that it was a close fight and a robbery at the same time. People make the same contradictory claim about the Canelo vs GGG fight. Close fight yet also the draw was a robbery. Its too weird for comprehension in my opinion. And as far as the guy you're responding to. He isn't a clown. He is a devout white supremacist. There is a difference. He lost the whole Al Haymon vs Golden Boy and Top Rank argument and the Andre Ward vs Sir Gay Hoevalev argument over a year ago and he still can't let it go. He's obsessed. Anyone who is still a fan of Hoeva is obviously a white boy scorned.Dude, you are a clown. Tell the complete story.
