It's next to impossible to KO an opponent as defensive as Winky who is in no way, shape or form trying to KO you. Winky was really trying to just touch-n-hide.
could taylor have knocked out winky wright if he was more aggresive?

Short answer, no. He was very aggressive for the entire fight, and never came close to dropping Winky. He threw a ton of punches, they both did. The only way he could drop Winky would be on a counterpunch, because sometimes Wright leans in on his jab, so maybe an uppercut or something. He was not going to knock him out with one of those flurries while Wright was covering up.Comment

I don't think he could have. Winky has a very good chin. Taylor may have dropped him a few times, if his eye didn't swell up from those headbutts, though. Winky is a warrior and he can take a lot of good shots. With his defense, I just don't see anyone knocking him out.Comment

Hard to say. Manny seems to teach his fighters to clinch a little too much for me. Winkys defense and chin were pretty impressive. Its possible but then again its possible that Wright could KO Taylor.Comment

I doubt it too, taylor landed more(& harder) punches then i've seen anyone land on Winky, but they didn't seem to do that much damage, Winky has a great chin for such a defensive fighter.Comment

There's no way Wright would KO Taylor, ever. Taylor was so unwary of Wright's punches that he allowed himself to get hit in the corner. It was dumb, but it shows Taylor's lack of respect for Wright's power.
I also notice the stamina factor again when it comes to Manny Steward's fighters. Taylor should have been able to throw more punches. Either he overtrained, forgets to breathe when he punches, or he just naturally has a slight stamina problem.
But yes, Taylor could stop Wright. He just has to be smarter about his punches and not tire himself out.Comment
