Interesting fight, Korobov was a scary dude once upon a time, no idea what he has left and that will lend some intrigue to this one. Honestly though, one of the best opponents out there when looking at the WBC top 15. Hope to see Benavidez do a job on him and then move onto the really big fights at 168. And for the record, I'd bet everything I own on Benavidez beating Eubank Jr.

Jfc, for all the fools who complain daily about Wilders opposition and Golovkin vanes, Ydksab.

Besides that, he was doing quite well before the Andy Lee incident. He beat Jose Uzcategui convincingly, had a stellar amateur career, and looked and played the part of a soon-to be emerging elite talent. He was also winning probably every round against Lee before that beautiful left hook of his landed (iirc, same punch that knocked out John Jackson, a good boxer but nothing like his father, at least in power). Unfortunately, he didn't fight for like 13 months after the Andy Lee stoppage, and then he stopped for a period of about 2 years. He's already 35, and I don't see him beating a young and hungry fighter like Benavidez in a higher weight class.
He had a professional career that never reached the expected possible heights people thought, but I have no doubt in my mind he was still a great fighter. I'm convinced he would have beaten Saunders comfortably had he not been knocked out by Lee. He's not the only guy to fall short, of course. Pirog was another big one.Last edited by UNBIASED BOXING; 05-29-2018, 10:07 PM.
