Korobov should be forced to fight a top guy before he EARNS a shot at a world title, give the fight to Eubank Jr I'd bet big on Eubank stopping David.
Basically he's beat a few scrubs and cause he's young people assume he's going to improve massively. That's not always the case.

Interesting fight, Korobov was a scary dude once upon a time, no idea what he has left and that will lend some intrigue to this one. Honestly though, one of the best opponents out there when looking at the WBC top 15. Hope to see Benavidez do a job on him and then move onto the really big fights at 168. And for the record, I'd bet everything I own on Benavidez beating Eubank Jr.

That's right and a world champion.
Truly a very good fighter in his day.

If Korobov has anything left it could be a great fight as long as he keeps that Chin tucked. A quick southpaw very good skills.

Jfc, for all the fools who complain daily about Wilders opposition and Golovkin vanes, Ydksab.
Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines as you to be honest.

I would’ve preferred Uzcategui who called him out but Korobov the guy who beat Uzcategui, ain’t mad at this fight at all.

                War Benavidez!

Once upon a time, Korobov was a good fighter. Then he got knocked out, and seemed to retire from the sport after the Andy Lee setback. Yeah, he lost to Andy Lee, but he was obviously a very talented fighter (he beat just about every great elite boxer now in the amateurs). Hell, he schooled Kovalev pretty bad, beat Sergiy Derivyachenko so bad that his corner threw the towel in (I don't even know if Serigy landed a punch, or he barely landed one), defeated Usyk, Danny Jacobs, etc. I know Golovkin was one of the few who beat him back then. I really think you should lose that mentality of a defeat meaning the end all, be all of someone's career. **** happens in boxing. People lose. He didn't translate all his success into professional boxing, that's true, Maybe he started too late, I don't know.

Besides that, he was doing quite well before the Andy Lee incident. He beat Jose Uzcategui convincingly, had a stellar amateur career, and looked and played the part of a soon-to be emerging elite talent. He was also winning probably every round against Lee before that beautiful left hook of his landed (iirc, same punch that knocked out John Jackson, a good boxer but nothing like his father, at least in power). Unfortunately, he didn't fight for like 13 months after the Andy Lee stoppage, and then he stopped for a period of about 2 years. He's already 35, and I don't see him beating a young and hungry fighter like Benavidez in a higher weight class.

He had a professional career that never reached the expected possible heights people thought, but I have no doubt in my mind he was still a great fighter. I'm convinced he would have beaten Saunders comfortably had he not been knocked out by Lee. He's not the only guy to fall short, of course. Pirog was another big one.
