jabbing against a southpaw is very hard, especially if that southpaw has a great defense like winky.

and when the person doing the jabbing is a green HBO product, it doesnt work well in favor of the southpaw's opponent.

Jermaine Taylor hasn't fought many southpaws and never fought one near the level of Winky Wright and may have found it difficult to jab effectively against Wright who's hands are always held high, whereas Wright, who has been fighting orthodox fighters his whole career has no problem landing against them... especially a fighter like Taylor who keeps his lead hand held so low.

a jab would have been useless against winky...power punches, that landed, is what kept the fight alive..Taylor has a great jab but winkys defense is designed to eat jabs up. Winky worked the jab better but Taylor landed the harder shots. I was fine with a draw, but I did have Taylor winning by one round. Of course I guess in all how you score a bout. Some judges like ring generalship, I like clean effective punching. It was a damn good fight and I hope they do it again.

i had taylor up a rd. but not mad at the decision, and your right it was a real good fight that should happen again.

Winky worked Taylor over, clean and fair. He landed more punches and threw less as well and therefore landed at a much higher connect percentage. Taylor's jab is average at best, I don't know why everybody thinks he has the best jab in the sport. Winky does and after Saturday night that was quite obvious.

I also love how everybody had pegged Taylor to KO Wright before the 10th and then when it doesn't happen they crawl away and act as if they never said anything. Stick to your guns people. You can't always be right with your predictions but at least you can be a ****ing man about it.

i don't remember winky using the jab much either but when taylor used the jab it was clear the better and stronger jab

Taylor just fought 3 fights with 2 great fighters who excel at taking away an orthdox fighter's jab.

He's still got a very good jab.
