Whos Defence is better Floyd's or Winky's?

I would have to say Pretty Boy's defense if better. Winky has great defense now do get me wrong but he also stands still and doesnt dodge punches...Pretty Boy dodges punches as well as block punches..He's simply the best...

They're two different styles of defences.

Like you said Floyd is very elusive and rolls punches off his shoulders, while Winky just keeps his gaurd high at all times.

That being said, I think Floyd's defence is more effective in terms of not getting hit and taking less damage overall, but at times can be hit by a very big punch flush (though it doesn't happen often)

Where as Winky, he's a lot easier to hit (though not cleanly), and you'd rarely be able to land a flush shot on him. But if you hit Winky often enough or hard enough, even if the punches are partially blocked, they're going to take their toll.

Vote - Mayweather.

Winky blocks and picks off punches better but Floyd dips and bobbs and moves better........Winky is more effective because Floyd gets hit more than Winky.

Floyd easily has the best defense because he isnt one dementional. When people talk about Floyd's D they only think about the James Toney D but Floyd switches his D up all the time.

One fight he will be like Toney, against Gatti he kept his hands a little high and in front of him but in a offensive manor, and in the Zab fight he fought the whole way mostly like Winky.

If anyone has the Zab fight, go back and watch it. He fought the whole fight with has hands just like Winky and it looks just as good as Winky. The point is thats all Winky can do, but Floyd can switch up for any fight and alot of times he switches up during the fight.

Floyd will always switch his defense in a fight but Winky will use the same thing the whole fight

By compubox stats, Winky is the one who gets hit more. Winky takes a lot of partial shots. Watch his fights with Soliman, Angel Hernandez, and of course Taylor and Mosley II and you'll see his defense is not air-tight. It's good, but not great. Floyd on the other hand has a truly great defense, and usually keeps his oponents accuracy below 20%, like Roy Jones did.

To add on top of my reasoning why I think Mayweather's defence is more effective, is that:

Floyd is also as good or better than anyone in the sport at counter-punching and capitalizing on fighters mistakes. Which in effect, makes opponants very hesistant to swing at Floyd, because not only do they miss, they get hit 4 times in return. Basically, Floyd's defence complements his offence well and vice-versa.

I'd have to give the vote to Floyd at the moment. Winky's defense is tight; but it's more rudimentary, whereas Floyd's requires more practice and training, IMO. Both are good; but Floyd's, I feel, has more technique.

winky's defense can be compared to the likes of the best defenders to ever play the sport. Hes is considered to be one of the best defensive fighters ever. Some even consider him the best.

Floyd is in a different league as winky in terms of defense, and winky is in the better league. just because he moves more doesnt mean he avoids as many punches as winky.

We even saw this on saturday. Taylor through 50+ punches in some rounds, all power shots, and he still landed in the single digits. Only uppercuts and jabs can break this guys guard.

There is no way Mayweathers defense can even compare to that of winkies. winky can throw and time while in his defensive mode. Mayweather, when he does that amazing shoulder roll of his, must almost completely stop throwing to avoid big shots, some of which land. all he can physically get off is the right jab
