If Haymon threw a ton of money at me, like I'm sure HBO did for Kovalev, I would've left too! Obviously, Adonis was not SIGNED to HBO or he wouldn't have been able to follow Haymon! However, Duva asked for the mandatory position, and the purse bid! Why ask for a purse bid, knowing you didn't have the resources to win? Maybe HBO let's Kovalev go fight on Showtime, just like they let Linares go fight on ESPN last weekend?

Duva didn't ask for a purse bid.

She asked for Kovalev to be Stevenson's mando with a 50/50 split then tried to negotiate a deal with his promoter.

It was Stevenson's side who refused to negotiate and asked for an immediate purse bid.

... these two were almost signed for another fight (sometimes later), but Adonis (eventually) wanted it on both HBO and Showtime... and it flopped, of course...

... now "that ship has sailed" already... Kovalev proved to be a drunk... Adonis is too old... right now, I don't even care, tbh...

The Stevenson butt-suckers love to claim that Kovalev ducked him but it's not true. Network disputes are what ruined this fight.

Stevenson could've fought Kovalev when he was with HBO but declined because he thought he was going to get a lucrative Hopkins package deal.

In my opinion, neither fighter is "scurred" of the other. They both made business decisions that prevented this fight from happening, and it's indicative of a major problem in boxing.

That said, I really don't see why people would favor Stevenson. He's old, inactive and has fought soft opposition.

If they both look good in their upcoming fights, It could be interesting! It's not like B-Hop vs. RJJ II...yet.

What Duva should’ve done was back Haymon and try to get a higher licensing fee out of HBO. Especially after what Ward was making for tune up fights. Kovalev Stevenson was a potential FOTY candidate and both fighters should’ve been making around 2 million.

It may be Adonis' cash out fight... or better yet, I hope he enrolls in the WBSS.

I stand corrected! Makes no difference. Both parties failed to make it happen. I can't blame Kovalev for signing with HBO, and I can't blame Stevenson for signing with Showtime. That's why I give praise to guys like Ward, Loma, Mikey, and Linares who go seeking challenges! I hate guys who are scared to move up in weight, or drop down in weight, or fight on other networks, etc. Unless you're as big as Mayweather, you should do what you have to, to be considered an ATG!
