Comments Thread For: Beltran on Facing Lomachenko: At My Age - I Need The Big Fights

WBO lightweight world champion Ray Beltran (35-7-1, 21 KOs) has been out of the ring since capturing the title, but he's a very strong candidate to face newly crowned WBA champion Vasiliy Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs) in the fall.

This fight makes a lot of sense! Arum is the evil genius! Beltran will be heavier than Linares, and he will fight more like Salido than Linares! This is the kind of fight Loma needs before considering Mikey or Pacquiao!

Yeah man, Ive said before, a unification is the highlight fight of the year for most. Lomachenko expectations are so high, makes it look like a keep busy fight. Linares/Beltran unification/Pacquiao or Mickey and youre talking FOTY again

Loma v Beltran is the equivalent of Floyd V Baldomir. Expect Loma to look sensational and easily destroy Beltran. After Linares, Loma deserves an easier showcase fight to setup a bigger one at the end of the year.

Why am I supposed to give a f.uck about Lomachencko fighting Beltran when he just beat somebody better than Beltran? I mean, Mikey has a summer fight scheduled for the summer. So Lomachencko fighting a stay busy fight this summer is OK. But that’s all Beltran is, a stay busy opponent. Don’t think I could stomach the Lomachencko fanboys pretending Beltran is a world beater the way they did Linares.

Loma just adds another World title to his collection. He deserves a stay busy fight before a big fight in December against Pacquiao or Mikey.

So I guess he'll fight Mikey next and then retire? Because there is no one else as good as Mikey in the division. Or maybe we can just see good fighters fight and hopefully get a big unification at the end of the year.
