Yeah there’s a lot of scumbags in this thread

Calling this dude a quitter reveals a lot about the people in this forum

    Great fight, Linares!

... Where did I say that a ref ever "changed his mind" in the past?...

I only said that: "Unfortunately, Linares didn't protest against the stoppage and he quietly walked to his corner..."...

... this because the thread reads that: "Linares: I Want To Continue, To Keep Working - Ref Stopped It!"...

Tell me: how exactly Linares showed that he wanted to continue?...

... do not over-react, kid!... we don't have anything against Linares -- he fought valiantly and many had him "ahead"...

Loma would have finished him if he was allowed to continue. He was done.

I wouldn't blame Linares so much but this getting up at 9.8 seconds thing annoys me. Too many fighters doing it so they can blame the ref for the stoppage.

It was a great fight. People calling him a quitter are sad basterds.

Linares himself said he wasn't that hurt, and could have continued, claiming early stoppage... A true body shot keeps you on the ground twisting and moaning in agony... Linares simply spent the 10 count on his knees. Then got up after the 10... He was exhausted and demoralized, and quit.

              See for yourself:

Lol I’m a reasonable man who has respect for fighters. Linares and loma put on a show last night. He gave it his all but it wasn’t enough. To say he quit is unfair. My definition of quitting is rigondeux vs loma. Jorge beat the count but the ref thought he couldn’t continue and I have no problem with that.

I think the question here is what is your problem?

There was many a poster on here that was wondering how Lomachenko haters (honestly, who can hate this guy?) would spin this after the "he only beats smaller fighters than him" mantra no longer applied. Now, it will be that he and his team have a series of crystal balls and he only fights boxers they somehow "know" will quit.

                    Nice. Nicely played.

A liver shots puts you down and you stay down gasping in agony. Linares stayed on his knees for the count, and decided to get up 2 seconds after the ref counted 9... He also said he was not that hurt and could go on... That was a quit. Here are clips:
