It was a competitive fight that was just getting interesting when Lomachenko ended things with that well placed liver shot.
Thanks... That's what I saw in those "highlights"...

(I also saw that Compubox had Loma way up in terms of "landed jabs"... but one should also compare Loma's jabs to GGG's power jabs... )

Well, Lomachenko changes the speed and rhythm of his jabs a lot. That's part of what makes him hard to figure out.

He was swarming Linares with them and they helped set up his other punches. Including the final body shot.

That being said, I had no problem with it being a draw or Loma one round up at the time of the stoppage. I didn't think Linares was ahead, but I didn't think the scorecards were outrageous.
I seen it similarly, I don't think the scorecards at stoppage were particularly "out".

However, that fantastic liver shot made them moot anyway!

I wasn't scoring it, just enjoying what I considered to be a big fight with a bunch of OG Kush.

That said, Like I commented in a different thread...when they announced it was a draw i thought "I didn't smoke THAT much, did I?" Loma dominated most rounds until the KD, with Linares hitting the odd combo or blow. Plus I thought a lot of shots were telegraphed off Loma's shoulders and gloves.

lol @ the cries of "corruption". This was a Top Rank show, on ESPN (Top Ranks network), at MSG in NY. But somehow Golden Boy has more juice than TR in this situation? GTFOH with that nonsense. It was a good competitive fight, and because Linares was able to put Lomo on the floor, an even fight, or a round either way is well within reason........

Edit: My informal score at the time of the stoppage was 6 rounds to 3 in Loma's favor, which would have been a 96-94 score for Loma. Seeing only 1 round differently makes it a draw.......

compubox is not accurate. you think calzaghe landed 220 punches on hopkins too? the guy throwing more is always going to get credit for landing more even if hes not. thats the huge flaw in compubox and when you have a fast handed fighter throwing combos the guy pressing the button is going to be safe and press land even if hes not sure.

compubox also doesnt measure the effectiveness or cleanliness of a punch. a mayweather graze tothe nose counts as much as a clean punch that knocks your opponents head around. its a silly system. they need to do it after the fight when they can actually determine what happened instead of guessing.

Hoescar is single-handedly destroying boxing without a trace of shame. What a beetch ass. Linares wasn't there to lose, gave the his best and even hurt and confused Lomachenko at times but I had Lomachenko leading by at least 3 rounds.

Loma was clearly winning. Clearly. Linares might have gotten 3 rounds, and that's the limit.
