Linares claims premature stoppage, could have fought on... I believe him. He quit.

he bent down after the ref asked him if he was ko

ref has no choice but to stop it at that point

linares stopped the fight himself and he knows it, but doesnt want to be called a quitter which is understandable or he could really believe what hes saying which is possible because immediately after a fight isnt the best time to be accurate about thoughts on the fight

Hats off to Loma, perfect body shot.
      He didn’t want to continue.

I hope to see a rematch, it was a great fight.

He had zero complaints when he was stopped, he walked back to his corner like he was ok with it and was even pointing to his liver when he sat down, this is the same shit Kovalev try to do, it really is an ego thing with boxers or they are scared of being called quitters especially after Linares said he isn’t like Lomachenko previous opponents who all quit.

Watch from 6:28... and you'll see for yourselves if it was "premature" or not...

Not sure on the official rules but IMO fighter should be upright at 10, if you're in too much pain to stop bending over double then you're not able to defend yourself. He doesn't have cause to complain. I wouldn't label him a quitter though, he fought with a lot more heart and will than some Loma opponents and was sent down by body shot in the late rounds after putting up a great fight. I think he wanted to get up but just didn't have enough left to recover in time. Not gonna say I'm 100% certain but more so that he deserves the benefit of the doubt, and his negative body language was what it was because of pain not as part of an acting job.

That's the reaction I got earlier when I said it.

It's true, though. He didn't want no more. Another no mas, just a subtle version.
Exactly what ive been saying he quit but in a subtler way.
Lol cause thats what he said he wouldnt do.

I definitely won't believe the next guy who says that.

Heck, any of Loma's potential opponents could. Mikey showed tendencies in the Salido fight. Beltran could definitely throw in the towel. Easter might have to quit and go find an egg and ****. Anything's possible.

Well considering now that 5 of Lomas last 5 fights have quit the odds arent great for his next victim.

I think he just overwhelms them mentally. They get too frustrated and implode. Pretty amazing stuff.

I got the impression he quit too, but at least he tried more than the others so, I give him a pass I guess.
