I’m not positive but that’s probably it

Or else they are just horrible matchmakers, which i wouldn’t put past golden boy.
Makes no sense to make this fight for Ali, coming off his biggest win unless they had a deal with this kid

And honestly this is funny coming from PBC guys. Robert Guerrero, Miguel Vasquez, Jhonny Gonzalez, etc were all set up the same way.

Because he basically did! Don't think GBP was ever all that high on ALI so cashed him out to a young talented 21 year old Mexican Fighter who is far more Marketable and who I am sure will probably fight on GBP Again. It is all about Canelo with GBP so maybe he was sacrificed to build up somebody for Canelo eventually

If Canelo fought him in September would anybody be shocked. It might come down to HIM Spike O'Sullivan

I didn't even think of the Canelo angle. That dude is huge and will be fighting MW soon. Probably Spike in the fall. And Mungia next cinco de mayo

If you notice, Thurman only fights guys coming off long layoffs or are inactivity. At the time Thurman was an Ace in PBCs line up. Guerrero was offered an ridiculous amount of $ to fight Thurman while having a style that needs activity to be good. Guerrrero literally fought twice in almost 3yrs prior to fighting Thurman. Thurman at the time was very active.

Ive said it once and I will say it again, PBC pays their guys very well to get their asses kicked. Not that its necessarily a bad thing because if Ali was with PBC he woudve at least been paid very well.
