I really feel bad for JCC Sr, you can tell he feels great embarrassment over his 2 under-achieving sons, especially JCC Jr, who brings shame to his own name. Get the feeling that if he could just take these kids out to the back and shoot them like an old, injured horse, he would. If they were a Japanese family he would've asked them to commit seppuku by now

Not a father, then? JCC's children are his own fault. He was a great fighter, but a poor father.

Anyway I was hoping Senior would threaten to "take matters into his own hands!".
What ever happened with that situation? Don't remember hearing anything about it after the initial word. Did JCC get some hardcore dudes to find those guys that killed his brother and quietly take care of it? All those guys are probably buried somewhere out in the Sonoran desert now

What did he do that was so bad? I blame Jr for his laziness, not Sr, just because you have a comfortable upbringing doesn't mean you can't be a hard-worker. I do think he probably felt like he was always in Sr's shadow though and probably resented it

If mentality and emotionally Chaves Jr. was unprepared for the Alvarez fight, that can happen. But that was one of the worst performances I can remember in a big money fight in a long, long time.
JCCJr was very clearly mentally and emotionally UNprepared for that fight. Do you think he wasn't fit enough to throw punches or that he seriously didn't want to win?? The poor guy was completely shook and overwhelmed by the expectations of father, family and country. He suffered complete stage fright in there. I wasn't mad at JCC in that fight. I felt bad for him. I compare it somewhat to the Loma/Rigo fight. Rigo, as talented as he was, was shook mentally going into that fight. He realized he was in over his head and instead of digging down, his wheels just came right off.

Search YouTube to see how much JCC goes around bashing his sons on various sportstalk shows. I don't care how much your sons disappoint you, you don't malign and embarrass them in front of the world. I would never do that to my boys because I love and respect them. No good father would ever do that. I mean, damn, they aren't rapists, they just didn't turn out to be great fighters. But how could they anyway? People who grow up with silver spoons in their mouths have a very hard time developing discipline and a hard work ethic. JCCSr seems to think it comes out of thin air just because you put boxing gloves on a kid.

Life is both long and short though. Unless he is really an enormously stubborn machista prick, Snr will one day regret and be ashamed of himself for disrespecting his sons.

this is what happens when you grow up rich and entitled. you just don't have it. you constantly are trying to prove you deserve what you have...but yo don't and you fail over and over. look at the chavez's, trumps, etc...we all know john adams was superior to john quincy adams!

I don't think he would have been like this to them as kids though, right? I won't claim to know how JCC raised his kids, but if they can't take a little criticism as adults, then they need to take a look in the mirror. I do think that JCC is probably most concerned with how their failures reflect on him moreso than the actual impact it has on the kids.

We agree there. A father should be able to talk straight to his kids, which I'm sure he's done. I just feel a line is crossed the way he goes out on public tour about it. Yes, Julio, we all know you are immensely disappointed in your boys. They know it too.

As you say, this all seems to be more about Snr's ego. Then again, as a parent, its often difficult to see your kids as individuals instead of as extensions of yourself.
