Comments Thread For: ESPN+ Expand Boxing Content With Two New Original Shows

ESPN will debut two new shows this month, exclusively on ESPN+, as it continues to introduce new and unique boxing content to serve fans of the "Sweet Science." In This Corner is a twice-monthly deep-dive talk show with a rotating panel of four of boxing's best journalists gathering at noteworthy New York City establishments to discuss boxing's biggest stories, past, present and future.

This will be great as long as they are only discussing ESPN affiliated fighters because that will be non biased. It will be not so great whenever a non ESPN affiliated fighter is discussed because ESPN on air talent will not be objective.

Which is exactly the problem with The Fight Game.

I wish they had a show where Rafael went from state to state, eating his favorite meals like a Food Channel program.

They have a good mix of credible journalists from outside of ESPN. Unconscious bias can still be a problem but the rotating panel aspect should nullify or significantly minimize any bias.

I'd actually prefer if they talked about boxing as a whole, considering PBC and Matchroom are major players, rather than staying in their ESPN bubble.

Will wait until ESPN+ has a really great match (love me some Crawford, but the fight with Horn doesn't quite get there). When there is, I will do the free trial and see what else they offer.

If I though for one minute that ESPN would keep it at 5$, I would do it. But it will be up to or over 10$ as soon as it has a good subscriber base in my opinion, and the entertainment dollar can only stretch so far. My choices of U-verse, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Prime music subscription, and my HBO/Showtime purchases are already ****** expensive and only increasing.

If it is worth it after I try it, I will have to start cancelling other things which will require "dealing" with the family. Ugh.

Agree. Hopefully, the desire to broaden their subscriber base outweighs their desire to push their brand. An open minded set of shows on EPSN+ can only be good for boxing, which will appeal to the average boxer.

Damn it, they are getting closer and closer to getting my money lol

More content! I really need that live content option too. We need the full suite of services and is go up to $10 and cancel all cable.

Between Netflix/Showtime/Starz/ESPN I dont watch anything else anyway lol

I dabble in HBO when boxing or Game of Thrones is on though.

I understand that these guys are extremely qualified but one of the golden rules for TV is to put attractive people in front of the camera. No offense but this doesn't help make it seem like this is a young sport especially when you compare it to UFC broadcasters or UFC people with their own show. Presentation is everything
