This looks like a go as big as you can go move. I doubt they could get their wish list of free agents, but I don't see how they don't acquire some of them cuz the money is gonna be sexy enough to entice them just enough to sign with a promoter finally. And for some of them it'll be the best decision they've made in years cuz a bunch of these Haymon guys could use someone like Hearn pushing them. Its a win win situation.
No, he shouldn't overpay All Star Boxing, but for all the money in this deal for Eddie Hearn, he's not the only one walking into the room with money and he's not walking in with any relationships to grease anything:

-Showtime/CBS is sitting with money; they'll put on their 20 or so Showtime Championship Boxing cards, and they'll get the pick of the talent under Haymon's umbrella.

-PBC is likely sitting with money (confirmation of deals and all that in due time); BounceTV will get their 4 shows, FOX will get their 4 shows (name vet vs name vet in a crossroads fight will likely become the staple, with competitive contender fights under that).

-HBO is sitting with money behind the Canelo Show; they don't care about much, but notice the investment made in fighters at 160lbs.

-ESPN basically bought Top Rank for a little bit (I doubt that the money was anything crazy, but Bob Arum is on his last bridge, and is a cranky old fart who will grumble for every dollar that he'd get for having to follow someone else's plan).

The lure isn't as strong as you think, imo; most Showtime cards already have total fire payouts approaching $3m anyway.

The money is sexier like I said, but the promoter angle is the sexiest thing involved & why it'll be the best decision for some of these guys.

I still say you are in too deep with this PBC thing. All signs point to them not doing sh^t or playing small ball best case vs what others are doing. Haymon has failed at creating a product. Okay sure he's got some great fighters. Okay sure he's made some fun fights. But they haven't a clue how to push the narrative of their successes like other straight promoters do or how to push their specific high profile guys who can be sold to new & more fans.

Watching PBC boxing is like eating chinese food. You're hungry an hour later.

After that solid win last night any chance Devin Haney gets picked up by Eddie Hearn? Or are the Haney's still shopping for something bigger & better?

Hi eff panda I have to disagree with you on this. The reason it seems like other promoters are better at pushing their success is because they are content with speaking to people who will watch boxing regardless. They are speaking to people who remember the old days. PBC is speaking about their success but its to tv executives and venues and advertisers. They are going for the hundreds of millions sports fans. Not the one million max boxing fan who has been a fan for the last 30 years.

If thats really the case, which I don't believe, they've failed really bad then. I don't think they've moved the needle much on making new fans. They did some of it, but its not been some movement with much logical or forward trajectory that has seemed planned out very well to me.

Wish Hearns have love for my boys James Kirkland and Yuriorkis Gamboa. Fuck 50 cents for destroying their careers.

He's already pulled Danny Jacobs & Khan from PBC. I have no reason to believe he can't pull 3ish guys from the Spence, Charlo 1, Charlo 2, Wilder, Thurman, LSC, Tank (when he becomes a free agent), Derevyanchenko (not sure if he's with a promoter or not, but he's PBC/Haymon), Hurd (not sure if he's a free agent or not either tbh) or Broner crowd.

And after that there are probably 20-30 guys underneath these guys who could be co-main caliber guys & main event guys within the next 12-24mos probably if moved correctly.

And after that there are maybe 40-50 solid to great prospects to pick & choose from.

Take 3-4 guys from that top tier. Give me 8-10 guys from that middle tier & give me 16-19 bottom tier guys & we got a 30 man new roster to add to what he gots + flip guys from the US to the UK at times/when needed or flip guys from the UK to the US at times/when needed.

Some of you mfers are nuts. Some big move gets made for a guy like Hearn or Arum with the ESPN deal recently & you f#cking dummies think its a bad thing somehow lmfao. Hearn is ABOUT TO BE F#CKING KILLING IT. And fighters who turn him down will likely regret it cuz as of right now there has never been a better time to be with Eddie Hearn.
                  good post, I agree.

the last big ones have been in the 2m range.

Hearn would be able to double it.
