Oscar won't fight Floyd in Sept.!

    Tuesday, June 20 2006

WBC super welterweight champion Oscar De La Hoya reportedly is ready to reveal his future plans on Wednesday, and word is those plans don't involve IBF welterweight king Floyd Mayweather Jr., at least for the balance of 2006. There is speculation that the Golden Boy could call it a career. De La Hoya tore a muscle in his left forearm during his demolition of Ricardo Mayorga in May and according to the L.A. Times, he is also suffering from a slight tear of the rotator cuff. Golden Boy Promotion had September 16 reserved at HBO for Oscar's return.

so basically he has 2 months to change his mind if you want to factor in the time he'll need to train.

There is no way Floyd would sign with Oscar without the fight. Why would he do that? Thats like Oscar having his cake and eat it too. You think Hopkins wouldve signed with Oscar without the fight? Yeah right.

Also, if he signed with Oscar now, you could kiss the Margarito fight goodbye because there is no way Arum would want to split all that money with Oscar

how is it a ***** move? **** is geniouse, he has nothing to prove by stepping into the ring with PBF.
pbf and arum split. oscar and arum split. margarito has called both PBF and Oscar out. this would be a promotor vs promotor, fighter vs promotor, fighter vs fighter
