Good question. Although I don't think either are giving him a billion dollars so I assume he'll continue on with most of his commitments contractually til they end & then move forth with this streaming platform exclusively.

Or maybe he has a deal where he can show fights on Sky, HBO & Dazn. Sky rides Hearn's **** pretty hard so I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing something like that in the UK for sure.

But I definitely didn't see this addressed or if there was something in relation to this in the news I didn't understand it or something.

This deal will be used as an excuse to duck wilder unless Hearn holds all the cards.
He won't put aj near wilder nor will he pay him a decent fee to fight without signing.
Hearn will look to keep aj safe with his fights for a few years if wilder doesn't sign.

Hearn will start to talk about the bigger picture and how everything's exciting and wilders not doing enough...

Only problem is nobody in America has ever heard of dazn. And at $20 a month isn’t gonna fly

I imagine they'll be hearing of it soon.

And cord cutters are gonna love a all sports channel that streams for $20 I would think.

Plus I still contend the real value in streaming is barely being touched upon yet from the things I've seen. Streaming will allow customization of the viewing experience for live sports on a level we've never seen before. Streaming will ultimately revolutionize what the viewing of a game, fight or what have you looks like.

This sports TV department is ran like a bunch of coked up timeshare salesmen out to make a buck at any cost. When the business is lined up with people thinking like that it takes minimum people with an idea + some money to change the paradigm completely from there.

Good on Hearn in this attempt. I hope it does end up successful & have no reason to believe it won't be.

Hmm, it seems like DAZN is only launching for the US market. I guess the deal with HBO will just expire?

I don’t think the average person even wants to pay $5 for ESPN+

I think it was during the olympics during boxing on the nbc app you could turn off the commentary. That alone might be worth the $20 lol

We'll see how it plays out. Boxing's biggest issue in America is there's a costly barrier to entry for the average guy who might want to get into the sport, in that you need cable+two premium channels to see the fights.

I really don't see how having yet another pay-service, in addition to the aforementioned packages, is going to do anything but add further confusion to the market and result in a bunch of fights going unwatched.
