guys wtf are you talking about? Rigo would need not just cut to 118 but do this 3 times for the next year and a half.
At this age even if he hadn't fought Loma this would be suicidal.

It's excruciating and even worse when you don't have months to take it off slowly. Add into the mix that you're training not for aesthetics but an actual fight and have to spar and you're close to 40 and put on more weight for you last fight. If you can't cut anymore then you really can't do it.
The muscle goes away just in weeks of no-weight training. That's my point.

That would be a good fight for both boxers. 2 champs going at it.

Ah man, I would of liked to have seen him in there.
The reasoning against is understandable though.

This totally sucks. I would have favored Rigo over anyone else in the tourney At least all the other top names in the division are involved. I love nothing more than the best fighting the best.

Exactly. It’s difficult at any age to drop weight when you’re already at low body fat. It’s progressively more difficult as you get older. Just one reason why PEDs are prevalent among competitive athletes

It’s too bad for Rigo. He’s MIA, big time. This would’ve given him a chance to make a couple of bucks. He’s done, man. Can’t even get on board with something like this.

agree. losing 4lbs is a piece of a cake for the fat slobs that post in this forum, but for a boxer who's already pure muscle, and at 40yo on top of that, it'd be incredibly excruciating

There's a reason Canelo looked weight drained against Floyd for dropping from 154 to 152lb for that bs catchweight fight

Rigo is just too old for stuff like this
