so ggg offers jacobs a great payday and about a 35 percent of the purse at 1.5 million. now both team jacobs and ggg use the purse bid as leverage hence why it took awhile to get the fight done. it was like a game of chicken. ggg obviously had the better argument seeing as jacobs was an undercard fighter who usually made much less except for the one fight he was massively overpaid in but jacobs had his own leverage of knowing everyone wanted ggg to fight him.

so what ggg did was offer jacobs a 35 percent split and used the purse bid as a way of trying to get jacobs to accept it before hte purse bid where he would only get 25. they thought the closer it got to purse bid the more likely jacobs would be to accept and not pass up on this big money otherwise it would be back to fighting moras for 500k.

jacobs on the other hand used the purse bid as a threat to kill the fight by continually saying we wont fight for 25 percent we wont fight for 25 percent. the closer the purse bid got for ggg the more danger of losing the fight completely.

so what happened was jacobs team won the game of chicken because they were willing to lose the fight entirely and their wba belt where ggg was not willing to let jacobs walk away since they wanted the fight more.


please dont start with conclusions and try to work backwards. it will only lead to filling in everything with giant leaps in logic.

i have more to add about jacobs and his "star power"

jacobs-quillin did less than 400k viewers on showtime. horrible.

jacobs next fight was on the undercard and he made 550k. 1.5 million is a very very generous starting offer from team ggg. just because jacobs was massively overpaid to get into the ring with quillin does not mean gggs team has to overpay him(but he did).

in reality ggg was willing to overpay jacobs just like haymon did just so he could fight him! he didn't have to do this at all! yet you spin this into ggg was trying to avoid him. its completely illogical.

ggg's starting offer was much more than 25 percent which showed he clearly wanted jacobs to accept and get the fight done as soon as possible and avoid the purse bid. they knew jacobs would reject more than 25 percent when thats all he would be entitled to at purse bid? uhhh illogical

And this logic will justify your love for more SHT mismatches for GGG like Vanes. Wipe GGG's cum off your mouth before speaking next time.
