Gennady Golovkin vs. Gerald McClellan prime for prime.

McClellan was a devastating puncher, just like Golovkin. Could he have cracked GGG's chin?

Damn that would have been a good one. McClellan was ferocious and fearless, to his detriment eventually. Prime for prime if edge it to McClellan but that may just be nostalgia talking. He wouldn't blast Golovkin out though. It would be a war while it lasted.

I'd say Gmac, but it could go either way in that war, much like with Benn.

in fairness, Gmac had Benn that time too. The bastiche Brit ref should have been thrown out for favouring Benn, not taking anything away from Benn though, he was on fire that night.

GGG is the far more battle tested fighter.

GGG would stop him in 8.

McClellen would have been picked apart and taken out the same way Lemieux was.

Considering Golovkin chin, Golovkin by KO.

GGG all round a better fighter than McClellan would win.

He was dehydrated and Benn hit him behind the head all night . And the ref let that crap go. Hatton did the same to Zoo and almost killed him too.

                    At 160, I think GGG pulls a close D.
