Spot on. Just because a fighter shows promise and has legitimate talent doesn’t mean he should be thrown to the wolves. I mean, experience is a real thing ffs, and there’s only one way to get it. I commend fighters for taking steps up, but I would advise against it. Like Lubin for example. He deserves credit, but I questioned how ready he was. I would have had no problem had he passed on that fight.Of course they are. Loma's dad and Floyd are making smart decisions based on their experience. The job of a trainer is to develop a fighter so he can maximize his talent, not rush him into a fight he has little chance to win to prove to NSB denizens that he isn't ducking. The job of a promoter is to maximize the fighter's financial success.
