Floyd’s fighter was just pissed bc he knew it was one of Floyds’ old watches! He wanted a “real new” one! Obsolete is the word of the day man!

I don't know the particulars in this case but if I had to guess,

The watch may have a list price of 70 but fighter suspects Floyd never paid anywhere near that

The watch is hideous and not what the fighter would select if he was buying.

Floyd was supposed to deliver a better paycheck and the watch doesn't make up for the short fall.

My understanding was this was a gift situation not a in lieu of payment take a watch type situation. If something like that went down thats HIGHLY f#cked up.

And personally I still say I'd do what I wanted with that watch if offered to me0. I'm gonna ebay it, pawn it or get 70k or near 70k worth of goods & services from some 3rd party off of it. But f#ck a 70k watch.

Yeah it comes across as a **** move no question. I too would not moan if some random millionaire reading this post decides to bequeath me with a 70k watch....

The other idea which came to mind though, which may be me just being ultra cynical, is that all of this stuff with these fighters falling out with Floyd is scripted. Mayweather made so much money from carving out an image as a money obsessed bad boy that I wonder if he's trying to send his fighters down the same path and leveraging his fame to do so? After all, we're all talking about it...

Floyd should just get out of this game, fighters in boxing expect a lot more than they will get it happens all too often and with the riches Floyd has accumulated he really doesn't need to do this at all.
We have too many guys in boxing promoting imo, the less the better.
