    3. In 2017, after there were real talks between Gennady and Canelo, Frank Warren tries to butt in and offers a fight for Gennady to fight Saunders in Kazakhstan.

Now, is he well within his right to change his mind and feel more confident than he was in 2014 and 2016? Of course

If he's gonna demand $6.7million to fight Jacobs, you better believe he will ask for much more against Gennady. And that type of money just doesn't exist. HBO doesn't have the budget for it. Warren's UK connections can't cough it up. PPV numbers can't justify it either. He's probably want $10m to fight Gennady. And Gennady's cut would obviously be more than Saunders' cut. There just isn't a $20m budget out there. It's unrealistic.
I think Saunders wanted big money for Jacobs because he didn't want to take a big risk before he gets the fight with Gennady.

Golovkin's side should go in to negotiations with Saunders and see what is what. If he asks for too much, then I have no problem with Gennady going in another direction. But if doesn't even try to get a fight with Saunders, then it's a straight up duck.

Why not just set this up now?

That's a huge reach. Saying he'd only ask for such a high number for Jacobs but won't ask for the same high number to face GGG. The fact of the matter is, that type of money isn't even there for a GGG match. So there's no way he would get that facing Jacobs.

If Saunders starts off negotiations saying "I won't fight for any less than what I would ask for to fight Jacobs, which is $7 million" then that's the good ol "let me price myself out, before negotiations even start" tactic.

People will call GGG a duck for not trying to negotiate with Saunders. But won't call Saunders a duck for pricing himself out before they can even start. It's strange.

Boxing fans are harsh and are rarely objective.

You do know that Saunders had already signed his part of the contract not long ago to face Golovkin and was happy with the money side of things? So, what's changed now? Saunders most certainly wasn't getting more than 7 Mill for the fight.

You're assuming Saunders is going to ask for big money before negotiations have even began. Assumption is the mother of all **** ups.

When did Saunders price himself out of a fight with Gennady? When has he given a price for the fight? He hasn't, so you're just talking nonsense at this point. It seems you're willing to see Golovkin swerve this fight and looking to place the blame elsewhere before Saunders has even given a price. So the only one not being objective here is you.

            Huh? Good grief.

            1. He most certainly wasn't getting $7m in that first contract - which is why Sanchez was even surprised he would ask that much for someone like even a Jacobs. By the way, they only agreed financially. And it was a contract offer FROM Warren. Not from Loeffler. So we don't know the ins and outs of what type of wacky things Warren included in that contract.

            2. What's changed now? Maybe Saunders wants more money now. That IS a possibility

            3. I'm not saying dont' talk to Saunders. It was an "if and then" statement I just made. You glossed over that. I said IF Saunders comes out the gate saying "I won't accept anything less than $7m" then it's his way of pricing himself out

People need to start reading and stop assuming that just because people are fans of GGG, it doesn't mean they will blindly agree with tactics that aren't fair. I'm all for fairness. And I side with boxing. Meaning, I'm a bigger fan of boxing than I am of Gennady. People let their disdain for Gennady get in the way of being reasonable.

For instance: I've seen numerous people still say that even if Saunders is asking for $7m that it should be done since it's Gennady's "dream" to be undisputed. People don't understand how big of a paycut GGG would have to take in order to make that happen. It's like they can't see that just because a boxer has a dream or a goal, they can only attain that goal if it's within THEIR best interest. We as fans don't get to decide what's in their best interest.

Just another load of waffle and assumptions again. You really should stop doing that.

Does the thought of Golovkin fighting Saunders really cause you this much concern?

Of course they are assumptions. Hence the IF and THEN statement I clearly made.

Concerned? I don't have to be concerned. I'm not fighting. I'm a fan of boxing. The concern is for Golovkin and Saunders.

Same as if GGG said "I want $15m to fight Saunders" - I'd say the same thing. That type of coin just doesn't exist and GGG priced himself out of the fight. I'm all for fairness.

I even said they should talk. No reason not to talk. If Saunders comes out the gate with a crazy number, then talks can't go any further.

I don't get why you don't understand that. I'm not saying Saunders said that. Because as far as we know, they haven't even started talking yet. I'm saying IF he did (solely based on him asking $7m for a fighter like Jacobs).
