HBO and Showtime have been ad-free for 30-40 years and they still play close attention to ratings, so when are ratings going to mean less and less?

Today and forward, data matters more than ever. Ratings are data, and that's becoming more important, not less.
Again who said ratings don't matter? Who are you speaking to? lol.

I'm merely saying when you got people paying you money every month you rely less on ratings. Ratings don't matter as much. This is some basic sh^t I said in passing cuz I didn't even think it was a point someone would argue with lmfao.

And its likely that ESPN+ &/or other ESPN apps or some new streaming platforms with a monthly fee are the future of ESPN more than the broadcast ESPN channel on your TV. The TV world is being altered right now folks. If you could fast forward 10 years you probably would have no idea how to operate w/e the standard of it is at that time.
