This is a lame thread! how about Garcia, Stevenson ( whos my boy ) Devin Haney at least win a world title first? cause Tank is on his second and is looking to unify. Totally disrespectful!

Tank shouldn't be on that list. disrespectful to him as all those guys are prospects and he's already graduated from prospect to contender to world champ lol

But the answer is clearly Ryan Garcia they are all top blue chip prospects with great amateur pedigree and skills but only Ryan is already headlining, filling arenas, drawing crowds like this

Ryan already has more Instagram followers (855K) then many established world champ fighters. For example Stevenson who was the darling of the olympics and huge fanfare when he signed with top rank yet only has 129K instagram followers and Haney has 171K followers. Hell Tank who is much older been world champ for a while and he only has 910K Instagram followers. At the rate Ryan is at he will have more Instagram followers then Tank by June and he's still maybe years away from a world title. Ryan clearly has the brightest future.

Do Instagram followers make you a better fighter?

No wonder KSI has taken to boxing future #goat and face of boxing.

You can't compre Tank to these kids, Tank is a lot more seasoned and he won his first title a year or 2 ago, these kids are still in the beginning of their careers so the comparison is invalid.

The younger guys however fight too pretty for my liking and I don't think they have enough grit or toughness for the top level pros, that's a thing they'll have to show me, from what I've seen I'd expect a guy like Salido to bully these kids around and bust them up and win comfortably. Nothing wrong with being a boxer mover but u have to know how to fight on the inside and how not to get bullied, was very unimpressed by how Ryan Garcia had absolutely no answers when his opponent was coming at him and roughing him up. If he doesn't improve on that he might end up like Amir Imam.

Its boxing not a popularity contest.

Just because a guy has a million jailbait followers on social media doesn't mean he's going to be a great boxer. It doesn't automatically mean they go to fights or will pay for them.

Most are probably spam bots and people only following to help promote themselves anyway, i guarantee 90% of his followers couldn't name an opponent he's fought. If 90% couldn't on this board you can guarantee they can't.

90% of fans can't name any of the opponents any of these fought. They prospects and excluding Tank more people know who Velez is then any of the opponents that Stevenson and Haney have fought. Ryan at just 19 beat by far the best opponent on all their resumes and dominated him winning virtually every round and busted up Velez more then anyone previously. Folks are knocking Ryan acting like it was a bad performance simply because he didn't stop Velez who has NEVER been stopped and only lost to top fighters. Devin Haney 2 fights ago couldn't knockout journey man Enrique Tinoco that fight went the distance. The same Tinoco who was knocked out by other fighters and in 26 pro fights hasn't recorded a win in 9 of them. Velez > Tinoco and it's not even close. The reason folks ain't killing Haney for getting rounds by a solid pro with a pulse winning but not getting the KO is because NOBODY saw this fight. lol Nobody is breaking down his prospect flaws because hardly anyone is watching him closely.

Everyone saw and heard about Ryan/Velez he's fighting in big venues, on TV main events. But make no mistake he's already fighting and beating better caliber fighters. Look at the comp Stevenson has faced which is worse then Ryan and Haney and he hasn't lit the world on fire in some of these wins. But he's fighting deep on Top Rank undercards and most folks aren't seeing him go the 8 round distance with Juan Tapia who isn't even top 300 ranked at featherweight by boxrec. lol

It's obviously too early to tell, but it's probably more of a fun assignment; speculation of sorts.

I'm guessing it's about American fighters. If so, Carlos (Karlos) Balderas and Teofimo Lopez should have been added instead of Davis. Considering everyone else is a prospect.

I think Balderas has what it takes to be the best fighter. He didn't medal at the Olympics but got close in a tough division. Arguably beat Lazaro Alvarez of Cuba in the quarterfinals. He looked great at the Olympics and I knew then his style would be great for the pros.
It's a shame they're not doing a great job with him at the moment. Probably should have signed with Golden Boy or Top Rank.

Garcia has a lot of star potential. This guy knows how to market himself. I thought Haney did a great job at promoting himself then Garcia comes and just makes it incomparable.

Lopez has looked good so far as well. His father and him have this attitude about them that people won't like and some may like.
