how would trinidad do vs the current WWs?

Today’s WWs dont have the skills nor do they have enough dog in them to beat a prime Tito.

Tito was a monster man. You dont see fighters like Tito in the current era.

Interesting, I was thinking about this earlier last week.

Tito vs Shawn Porter

This would've been action-packed from the start of the bell. Porter would try to impose his will but due to Tito's size, strength, and power Porter would either get TKO or UD( UD is more likely) I see this fight being just like Mayorga vs Tito but longer since Porter is a much better fighter than Mayorga was and much more physical.

Tito vs Danny Garcia

It can be argued that Danny has the best-left hook since a prime Tito. Danny is the better boxer, with better defense, and chin but due to Tito's size, I see Danny getting overwhelmed and possible TKO. I lean more towards UD since Danny has a top 5-10 chin all time when talking about fighters from 140 to 154.

Tito vs Crawford

This would be a brutal stoppage due to the huge size, strength, and power disparity. Crawford is the more skilled fighter but he would not be able to keep Tito off of him. Also, due to Crawford's defensive inabilities, I see him getting caught and stopped in the Mid-rounds. To beat Tito you need to have size, speed, chin, and pretty good to elite defense and power on your side. Crawford has none of those attributes.

Tito vs Spence

The ambulance would have to be waiting at ringside because this would be an absolute bloody way. I'm talking a war on the same level as Hearns vs Hagler, Manny vs Marquez 1, Gatti vs Ward. I see Tito getting dropped but coming back and beating Spence. Spence does not have the speed or power that Tito has. Plus, Spence's leaky defense would get him lit up and eventually stopped or not getting an SD in his favor.

Thurman vs Tito

Now, out of the current crop at 147, Thurman has the best chance. He has the better defense, speed, movement, and power compared to all the other welters. He is an excellent counterpuncher with great footwork, and he uses the whole ring pretty well. I see Thurman picking his spots and SDing Tito. This fight will be a lot like Tito vs Oscar (which I believe Oscar won) Movement, footspeed, hand speed, defense, and ring generalship will win the day.

I think he would beat them all with Spence being his hardest fight. He was even better at 154.160 was a little too heavy for him. He was 40 and 0 when he lost to Hopkins. He was a world champion from age 20 until the Hopkins loss at age 30. He never was quite as good after the Hopkins fight.

i was feeling nostalgic this weekend so i watch a couple of old tito's fights from when he was the IBF champ. how do you guys think he would've done vs the fighter from today?

i think he KOs them all, maybe goes down vs a few, like spence, but the man was a killer.

Todays crop of welterweights are fairly short, and would have problems with Tito's size and power. You really needed an iron jaw to have a chance against him. Because he would clip you eventually.

Thurman might be able to outbox him, but his height and reach might make that a fairly difficult prospect.

Tito's vulnerability Ive always felt was bizarrely party of what made him so successful. You could hurt him early, drop him early, and get confidence that you had him in a worse spot that he really was in, and that lead to opponents being less cautious of his power than they should have been.

That left hook was something really special. It literally ruined careers. And to top it off, if he got in trouble, he could whip that left hand right to your balls and cripple you.

I agree with almost all of this except for Garcia's chin. Judah had him hurt several times quite badly, Judah just happened to be even more hurt at the same time.

His chin is definitely good, but many fighter with great chins went in thinking they could use their chin to beat Trinidad, and he flattened them.

Also as to Thurman, he probably has the best chance, but he is 5'7" whereas Trinidad is 5'11". I think the size difference is too big for Thurman's skills to overcome.

Todays crop of welters are just not as big as they use to be. They are much shorter and more muscular.

Crawford has a good neutralizing ability so I'd like to see that although I favor Tito who was such a strong WW

A career 135-140lber is never going to be big enough to do much to trinidad at 147lb.
