Big fights. He just fought Jacobs and Canelo. He is probably going to go to Japan for another big fight. It may be a non event for you but for millions of people in Japan it's huge. It would if he is successful greatly expand his fan base. Smart move.

what about his current fans, the guys who are sick of watching him cop flak for fighting scrubs?

within the last few weeks, a LOT of posters have stated that if Golovkin does not step up next fight they will stop supporting him

even you admitted that this is just a lame attempt to break Hopkins record..... I think that fans are getting sick of listening to Golovkin make silly excuses to justify him taking the easy way out

why should the standards within boxing be diminished by recognizing fights won by the WBA 1st/2nd contenders as world title defences?

No I never said " it just a lame excuse to break Hopkins record." You said that. I said if he's going to fight Murata and he is successful he will make a lot of money and break the record at the same time. Hopkins record is going to be broken regardless of who he fights next.

I get it you are a GGG fan and that is fine but don’t sit there and tell me all the opponents GGG has beat that Canelo could not beat also..... as well as Jacobs and as well as Charlo and throw in Billie joe into the equation .Now we measure a fighter’s success with the number of belts, defences etc but who did GGG actually beat to acquire his belts and the number of defences. Don’t get me wrong for anyone to beat GGG they are going to have to be special. But then again no, I don’t think Saunders is special but he has the game plan and the toughness if called upon to beat GGG. Canelo easily has the toughness but lacks the stamina but that can be fined tuned. Charlo has the power but admittedly is untested.

One can’t hail all these accolades at GGG if there are 3 other fighters in his same division that can mimic what he is doing and they are calling him out.

GGG is all about the Japanese people now ?lolol wants to give them drama show? 6 days ago all GGG worshippers minds were transfixed in the states now Team GGG has taken your minds on a little holiday to Japan. I don't care if Saunders and anyone else can beat Golovkin's opponents.
They have to beat Golovkin. No one has been able to up to now. If you want to measure fighters by the number of title defenses then go for it. I personally don't think it's that important.
