plenty of top 10 fighters are not genuinely world-class

How can it be when the WBA didn't sanction the Brook fight?

      • GTFOH!! GGG only fought 2 A list fighters. JACOBS and CANELO. What about CHARLO or ANDRADE?

        • Guys who chuck balls through hoops should not be compared to boxers.

whether a fighter is truly world-class, or not..... is often determined when he fights a world-class opponent

            e.g. Lemieux

knocking out guys like Stevens, did not make Lemieux world-class

often, you can tell by the eye-test..... but there are certain boxes that need to be ticked as supposed world-class fighters have been found wanting in the past

there are plenty of examples, a recent one is Bute.....

EVERYONE called him world-class before he fought Froch, despite the fact that he had fought nobody..... NOBODY called him world-class after Froch

              • Golovkin, IMO, has at least one thing to prove.

And that is he that he can beat a fleet-footed boxer with fast hands and ability to move quickly in and out of range, a fighter who can keep G off balance, and keep him air swinging whilst punishing him for it.

He's had fighters who came close to being pure elite boxers, but no one good enough. Daniel Geale was just past his prime when he got blown away by GGG, but he had the skills.

Fighter's who pose the greatest test are Charlo, Derevyachenko, Andrade and Saunders.

If G can secure a fight with BJS by the end of this year, let Canelo battle it out with someone else and beat Saunders, then he will certainly enter my top 5 Modern MW's, if he cleans out the entire division, going on the road, he'll make my top ten all-time list.

Just Stand Clenelo up, leave him in the cold and go get that WBO belt!

There should be a poll listed to that aforementioned question: Canelo=money+limited bragging rights; Saunders=undisputed MW status + massive UK event + cemented legacy.

GGG is both now, P4P top three and elite, although only recently.

Canelo was an elite but with issue over his status given drug use.
