Very true. It's easy to blame it on age and decline, and while that may play a small role in speed, he is essentially the same fighter who has recently stepped up and faced better competition and now can no longer impose his will as easily compared to when he is facing inactive smaller men or Dominic Wade types.

He has another couple of years left imo, and I would bet that if he faces the best opposition at MW he will lose a couple of fights. Canelo will win the rematch, BJS has a good chance to out-slick him and there's a few more guys who are young and hungry

If that was Charlo hitting him with the combo in the first round, could have had very different results.

You could tell he wasnt expecting to be hurt like that and when he came out in the second well i wouldn't of wanted to be Vanes.
I thought I was the only one who noticed that. He really did get mad, lol

I thought so until I saw the replay. The replay showed him take that last punch off balance, then he just looked angry that he allowed himself to walk into that punch. Then Vanes was ****ed lol

That was the same GGG that faced Canelo. The slippage due to age is still visible and is the reason why elite competition has given him issues in some recent fights.

The loss of speed and quickness, for a fighter who was never that fast to begin with, makes a huge difference in his ability to stop elite fighters who only need those extra micro seconds to react to his punches and take them better. It also makes the aging fighter be more hittable than in his prime years.

People need to admit GGG is declining, no longer at his peak, yet he is still the best at 160

I honestly think he was just being careless. Same way he was against Brook. When he got hit with that right hand though, he pretty much just got pissed and threw the kitchen at Vanes. Think it was like “oh, you’re actually going to try and fight? Ok cool” type moment for him lol

He wasn't hurt by the left at the end of round one, he was embarrassed. And then he got pissed.

He is getting old. He's fought a difficult style for many years and he's fought for most of his life.
He should fight Saunders, beat him and retire undefeated.
