As far as Errol Spence goes, his last 3 fights of Brook-Peterson-Ocampo is pretty damn comparable to GGG's last 3 fights....if you look at it objectively.
Who knows who Errol fights later this year, but if you paid attention to the the sport, you'd also know that he's not seeking out guys like Ugas.
The difference between Errol and most guys out here, is that he has been actively calling out the top dogs in his division, and everybody, with the exception of Bud Crawford is clearly avoiding him. To somehow blame him for fighting Ocampo, when he literally has no damn choice shows either a clear lack of knowledge with how boxing works, or shows an extreme hatred towards the dude.
Ggg has the top fighters in the division calling him out, and he instead chose to fight Vanes for no other reason than an easy fight for an easy payday. As long as "fans" continue to support it, and excuse it, nothing will change...which was the point of my original post.
If you turn back the time to GGGs prime, he was in the same position as Spence. He wanted to fight all the other top contenders, but no one gave him the opportunity. There is a big list who tried to duck him somewhere on this forum.
People are lining up right now, because he is looking more beatable. That is an old tactic, that everyone in the past have used, befor that no one wanted to get in the ring with him at 160. I can guarantee you that a 36 year old Spence will also have more guys calling him out.
Prime Spence is avoided and if you pay attention to the sports Ugas is the only one who clearly said that he has no problems facing spence and he fought for an IBF eliminator last time around. I even said that Spence was avoided, the example was to show your shortsighted argument.
Brook, Peterson, Ocampo are not on the same level as Canelo, Jacobs and Vanes and if you cant see that, you are clearly biased.
So question:
You didnt actually reply to it (what a shock), but has GGG really faced no challenges recently? And wasnt he about to fight Canelo? It's not like he choose vanes from the beginning.

who the hell picked Martirosyan to win? Something I noticed last night is that GGG's skin tissue around his left is getting kind of weak. It's probably just age, wear and tear. He only fought 2 rounds and barely got touched and it was looking like it was about to open.

I think GGG boxes too well to legitimately lose a fight against Jacobs/Canelo, the way they fought in their fights against him. His pressure is too good and with his amateur experience he knows how to score points the whole round. That was especially Canelo's problem, he would have good moments but then would tire out and GGG would score at will the rest of the round.
Agreed though that GGG only brawls once he knows a guy can't hurt him/sees an opening. Might not get an all out brawl if those top guys tried to hold the ring against him, but I think it would be much better action. And if they could actually beat him that way, everyone would have to give them credit.

Did anyone else expect anything different?
Vanes was an interesting fight before losing to all the up-and-comers. And the only time this fight would of been good was probably around 2013 when GGG was still on the rise.

GGG still by far the biggest star in this forum, like most of the time all threads are about the middleweight Kingpin, the God of War, GGG. Keep hating, keep supporting, you just cant keep GGGs name out of your mouth and thoughts.

Regardless of the opponent, GGG went up a gear last night that he never did against Canelo. I don’t know quite why he didn’t in their fight, but he lacked that killer instinct, the spark and that ferocity.
Finishing Vanes last night he showed that again, whipping solid punches in quickly and relentlessly. I’ve got to say if GGG came alive like that against Canelo in the first fight in one of the many times he had him against the ropes, Canelo would have folded too.
