    • Vanes tried though. But you can tell that overhand right Golovkin landed hurt him badly. He wasn’t expecting that much power at all. Oh well. Hopefully Caneo in the fall now.

        • GGG, boxing's longest reigning active world champion, should have headline a major PPV rematch with Canelo Alvarez at the T-Mobile Arena last night! But after Canelo failed two VADA drug tests for the banned drug clenbuterol in February, the fight was called off.

The fight wasn't the mega event unified middleweight world champion GGG expected, but that did not stop him from making boxing history last night.

In beating Vanes Martirosyan GGG ties B-Hops defense record.

I'm tired of dudes like GGG in boxing. Fight a legitimate challenge, or retire.

Shame on anybody who bought a ticket, or tuned in to HBO to watch this garbage...

You are also part of the problem.
dude, can you be more biased? Take a step back and look at your criticism objectively.

GGG has faced Canelo and Jacobs in his last 2 fights. Those guys were the top dogs in the division including Golovkin.
He was supposed to fight Canelo again yesterday and that would have been his third top3 opponent in a row. That he didnt fight a top guy as a late replacement can be criticized, but is also somewhat comprehensibly. But it still does not deter from the fact that GGG fought two top guys and one ok guy in his last three fights.

Going down boxrecs p4p list, the only guys who have a similar recent run are Sor Rungvisai (estrada, gonzalez 2x), usyk (huck, briedis, gassiev) and gassiev (lebedev, wlodarczyk, dorticos, usyk). That's it.

I see that you are repping Errol Spence Jr.
He is probably going to have Peterson, Ocampo and Ugas on his resume at the end of the year. Not that awesome, right? Fight a legimitate challenge or retire, right?

But that is the short-sighted view, we know he cant get the other top fighters in the ring with him similar to when Golovkin was in his prime.

            • Good attempt but GGGs power would always come through. 6 unanswered bombs and night night

... my guess is that GGG didn't actually "show up" against Jacobs and Canelo... vs Jacobs: because he wanted to lure Canelo... vs Canelo: because he wanted a big money rematch and/or "trilogy"...

Maybe, just maybe, GGG didnt perform as well against Jacobs and Canelo as he did against his typical tomato can because they are higher caliber fighters. If GGG could have stopped Jacobs in 6 if he wanted to but wanted to lure Canelo, why didnt get knock out Canelo when he finally got him?

                    • I was just about to place money on GGG winning in the 2nd round at 10:1, but ultimately didn't. More fool me.
