Does anybody honestly care that much about there being a big fight on May 5? To me that was more Mayweather territory rather than just boxing in general. There was nothing of note on May 5 last year and nobody seemed to care too much then. I would have rather have a good fight about a month from now rather than a last minute mismatch on this day in particular.

Edit: Completely forgot about Chavez v Canelo, which was technically on May 6, but still counts for the weekend. That fight was so poor that I don't think it's a good counterpoint, though.

Risky bet but I cant see a guy being that inactive moving up in weight plus doesnt have any real power to keep GGG off of him...I tried getting 6 rounds but dude wouldn't bite. And this is AFTER he said Vanes lasts 12...

As a Golovkin fan, I have to ask...which fans? I don't care what day boxing is on. I don't need a special day of the year to enjoy a fight. **** give me some big cards on a Monday or Tuesday or something when nothing is going on. I mean people who are going to fights in Vegas are usually taking time off work anyway, the only reason it's on a Saturday is so that they can get that hotel money.

He didn’t use PEDS. And VADA didn’t give canelo a second chance as they did with Francisco Vargas who was closer to the fight.

VADA must know how great Alvarez is if they are comparing 78 days out testing in canelo vs Vargas who was 45 days out. In other words, VADa had no confidence in their testing since Canelo from 2012. Lol.

Canelo was always doing VADA with Lil’G. Maybe Canelo should have slapped on a Conte SNAC T-shirt and industry would’ve kept quiet?!
