So basically they admit they fought no hoper vanes instead of derev so they could tie hopkins record. They didn't wanna risk that at all even if it was against a guy in a lower weight class that has never been world champion. Loeffler you could have saved yourself the late nights by just agreeing to the mandatory against the willing derevchenko instead of going out of your way to find a cherry that was way out of reach. Still, Grovelkin and Loeffler found a way to pick that cherry and here Loeffler is bragging about it.

Only thing I'm looking for on Cinco de Mayo is the Kentucky Derby and having some drinks after at some bar downtown that's celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Just like last year I could careless about some mismatch

Does anybody honestly care that much about there being a big fight on May 5? To me that was more Mayweather territory rather than just boxing in general. There was nothing of note on May 5 last year and nobody seemed to care too much then. I would have rather have a good fight about a month from now rather than a last minute mismatch on this day in particular.

Edit: Completely forgot about Chavez v Canelo, which was technically on May 6, but still counts for the weekend. That fight was so poor that I don't think it's a good counterpoint, though.

True... The last good fight on Cinco de Mayo was Floyd/Cotto. Other than that they've been boring and Canelo and now GGG have fought nothing but mismatches on that date. I now look forward to the Kentucky Derby on Cinco de Mayo weekend instead of boxing
