IF GGG looks old in this fight, don’t be surprised if Mayweather starts chirping about now fighting GGG instead of fighting in the MMA. And he may try to steal that September date just to stick it to Oscar again. Much like Leonard came out of retirement for an aging Marvin Hagler who he believed was ripe for the taking. It would make as much, if not more money, than the McGregor fight. Every boxing fan, if they could be honest, would watch this fight because there is that element that Mayweather could get knocked out. He has been stunned quite a few times. Mayweather’s confidence would tell him, much like a Leonard did Hagler, I can create the “perception” with the judges that I out boxed GGG for 12 rounds. Mayweather loves money and is a media whore. And he wants to be mentioned among the greats. A win against GGG would solidify his own claim and would make his 50-0 undefeated record more creditable. The McGregor fight is really a blemish on his record. He has 1 more real solid fight left and this is the perfect one IF GGG looks old and slow in this fight. It’s actually a no brainer for him every way you think about it.
