No announcement yet.

Maybe AJ doesn't want to sign up for the WBC/VADA year round testing.

Your link is from when the expanded to the top 15 at the end of the year, the top 5 were already being tested.

The link i posted earlier from March last year clearly states.

"All of their world champions and boxers ranked in the top five will be required to take part in the program. The program officially kicked off this past Saturday night in Germany"

As i said do some research.
That was the announcement of the program. The vote on the program and it's creation wasn't until late october

    https://www.boxingscene.com/wba-vote...datory--121942

After the motion was approved, the Board left the responsibility of creating a committee to manage and carry out the program on Mendoza’s behalf.
You can't implement the program without a vote by the commission. That vote was taken and approved in late October. Now again I'll ask you to show me any proof this program is up and running. The program is supposed to be run by VADA yet there is nothing about the program on their website
    http://vada-testing.org/

I see the WBC clean boxing program on there. Who are the boxers that have signed up? Who is doing the testing? Don't show me old articles. I want to see proof this program is up and running.

The Briggs fight was stand alone testing for that particular fight. Like Canelo did stand alone testing for GGG but isn't enrolled in th WBC clean boxing program. Stop posting old articles and show me where this program is up and running. No database of fighters signed up. NOthing about it on VADA's website. All I see are press releases announcing they're going to do it but no proof they actually have started it. When the WBC started their program they immediately put out a list of fighters not enrolled once the deadline passed. Where's the WBA's?

          No it wasn't.

"So again I'll ask for someone to point me to a database showing this program is up and running. The fighters had until the end of December to enroll. Has the WBA produced a list of fighters enrolled?[/QUOTE]

Heavyweight Shannon Briggs tested positive on Testosterone following a Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) test as part of the WBA Fair Boxing program.

Briggs, who is scheduled fight Fres Oquendo for the WBA regular heavyweight title has the right to request the testing of B Sample.

WBA Directors will comply with due process and respect Briggs legitimate right to defend before ruling on it."

The Oquendo camp pushed for VADA testing when the fight was being negotiated, but according to a source with knowledge of the testing situation, the Briggs camp balked at first before finally agreeing.

Why would Oquendo have to push for drug testing, and Briggs agree to it, if he was under the fair boxing program?

              From your own link

"On Saturday, Dr. Margaret Goodman, president of the Las Vegas-based Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, which was overseeing drug testing for the bout as part of the WBA's Fair Boxing Program"

The drug testing was negotiated and when Briggs agreed it was put under the Fair Boxing Program. Shannon wasn't signed up for the fair boxing program before they negotiated the drug testing. If he's signed up for the program they don't have to negotiate drug testing. Why would Shannon initially decline if he's already signed up?

                  You're guessing.

                  Here's another explanation.

Briggs wasn't going to do testing even though Oquendo wanted it. WBA stepped in and told Briggs they were going to make it mandatory anyway, so Briggs agreed and signed up for the Fair Boxing Testing.

Do you think Briggs would have agreed if he had any choice?
