But I think its doable & even surpassable, but the tiny sample size of guys who'll weigh so lil & be able to grow later on + are good enough is so small that luck or unluckiness will play into when it happens again.

Relevant as well is who's promoting this cat capable of it. If you are this next Manny guy & are promotee by Roc Nation you are never gonna get there.

So its 100% possible, but a lot of sh^t needs to line up to make for the perfect storm of duplicating Manny's achievement or going past it.
Maybe if the guy is very special and managed carefully in every division that he will fight then it will be possible to surpass pac 8 division champion.

have you googled the 8 division champion? I'm pretty sure there is only one name that will come out and that's manny pacquiao.

Worthless 8 division champion is higher than a worthless 5 division champion.

How many guys have even did THAT is the thing? Thats what I mean by the sample size is tiny. Its a tiny list of guys who were top 5 in 8 or more divisions. And maybe its even a fact Manny was the only guy in the past 100 years.

I mean most guys I think of that were really high level P4P, future HOF guys were top 5, world class guys in maybe 4, 5 divisions. And quite often even 3 or less.

Just look at the numbers on multiple division champions.

            3 weight division champ = 46 guys
            4 weight division champ = 16 guys
5 weight division champ = 5 guys (Hearns, SRL, ODLH, Floyd + Manny)
6 weight division champ = 2 guys (ODLH + Manny)
8 weight division champ = 1 guy (Manny)

Oh & looking at some of the old timey guys I think it could get more attainable in the future with new weight divisions too. I mean looking at some of the old timey guys there are many who could've been 5+ weight division or more champs if there were the same divisions as now back then.

Are you a millennial? you seem triggered and restricted to only certain responses.

No safe spaces on NSB I'm afraid.

Just saying this because talking to real people about your feelings is the way forward, not typing them out for people who don't care on the boards.

I hope things start to look up for you soon and allow you make positive comments on NSB. Remember, it is not the other posters fault(s) that your life is *****.

                Cheers

Youw Pandas I'm looking at this post of yours and I'm like "Well......**** does Floyd and Manny's achievements take a dump on all the achievements of all fighters in perhaps maybe in the next 30 years....."

And also, 8 division champion is attainable, but you need to have the perfect dimensions, skill and utility of power and speed to do so, but even if a person does reach it, it would NEVER be in the way Manny did it when he basically went through the ringer with 5 Legitimate HOF's and ATG's and among all the other players that Pac went.

Not with testing. Probably won’t happen.

No doubt. Back when things were more heated I was Team Floyd all day every day as a Michigan guy who'd known of Floyd since he was like 15 or 16. But as things have calmed down a lot its a lot easier to appreciate both guys for being amazing fighters who did amazing things regardless how their one fight vs each other worked itself out.

Idk man. When you go through that many divisions I think you almost gotta run into some great fighters. But yea these days the path would probably look more Adrien Broner-like with risk averse moves to fight the lowest hanging title holder & similar things like that so yea you are probably right.

One thing I believe is most likely is if its done anytime soon it'll be done in much lower weights. Right now the most popular 3 division champs are guys who won the 105, 108 & 112 belts. And from there to duplicate Manny's achievement you just need to collect the 115, 118, 122, 126 & 130 belts.

                      25lbs = 8 division champ. Another 5lbs, 30lbs total, at 135 breaks Manny's record. Meanwhile Manny won his 8 belts covering 42lbs.
