I'm going to this fight too. I got the floor seats section 1 tickets. Looking forward to it.

I think Linares will not quit and unlike Rigo he's coming to fight but I suspect he'll be outclassed. I think the action will be fun though a lot of speed and skill on both sides.

He's been with Golden Boy and Oscar since 2009. Oscar claims to make stars but hasn't done anything for Linares even thought he's been a top fighter. He receives no promotion for GB and it shows when his fights at the Forum have less than 2k fans. He has to travel to the UK to get paid more than what Oscar pays him. Even with the fight next week, GB isn't even promoting or hyping up the Linares fight. All of their social media outlets don't even mention Linares. But yet Oscar says he can promote and make anyone a star.

Agreed... he has made just one star and more for the fact that he is ginger and he is Mexican. It’s like having a black Chinese guy with blonde hair. If he can fight, he will be a star in the making.( If his black genes are predominant obviously and off course if any Chinese people are reading this Chinese genes combined with black genes will make the fighter unstoppable 😜

True. Linares is far from a household name but at the same time anywhere else Linares goes he becomes a stepping stool. At least with gbp hes a main event.

I was at the fight, my cousin got free tickets. The Forum was pretty much empty. Linares was paid 250k according to the purses filed with the commission. The whole payout in purses for the 5 fights on the card were less 400k. Linares got 250k and Campbell got 100k. Everyone else got between 4k-10k.

Sounds about right for Linares. 250k. GB isn't going to be paying more than that when that whole show probably broke even. NO way that show did more than 500k in revenue.
