Just got done watching Mercer vs Morrison. Damn, that guy was so underrated as a fighter. Watched Big Baby's fight last night and he showed a lot of resemblance to Mercer.

Mercer was pretty insanely good, just came in at a time when the division was stacked and he got no shine.

Baby is nothing close to mercer.

Mercer would kick the arse of all fighters we have today.

What the heck are you watching? They are nothing alike, not even remotely close. Mercer was actually very good, skilled with dynamite in both hands while Miller can't even crack an egg and less skilled compared to the Merciless. Unlucky guy who came to the game late at one of the golden era of heavyweights and still managed to be a world champion. Can be argued he beat Lewis and gave the primed Holyfield a ver close fight. The guy almost damn near killed Morrison in the ring and Morrison is no chump. No doubt he will be a world champion today if he were fight in this era.

Mercer was better but he and bog babby are similar. It's like Crawford. Crawford is a lot like Pernell bit Pernell was a much better fighter

Don't see it myself they are nothing alike.

Miller is a volume puncher for one, he likes to throw a lot of punches. Mercer always fought in spurts as his conditioning was always an issue for him.

Mercer uses little head or upper body movement, he utilised a high guard instead as his defence. Miller leaves his chin exposed and tries to slip shots rather than take them on his gloves.

Mercer had a very good jab, hard, accurate a real ramrod jab. Miller's jab is just used to set up other shots, it's not a weapon like Mercer's jab.

Look at how they come inside. Mercer does it behind the jab, high guard, steps in to close range, Miller flicks the jab if he even bothers to throw it, dips down trying to get under his opponents shots, leaving himself massively open to uppercuts, Mercer never dipped and rolled his way in, he never needed to with his jab and foot work he could compete at range with the left jab and step in to land his power shots.

Mercer had far better fundamentals. He won Olympic Gold at heavyweight in 88. The jab, the right hand etc all far more orthodox and technically correct than Miller. Miller throws wide shots, often he hooks with both hands leaving himself horribly open to shots down the centre. Look at how Mercer throws a right hand, straight with proper leverage, Miller's right hand is a wide looping shot and on the rare occasion he throws a straight right it's a nothing arm punch.

Other than they are both aggressive come forward fighters that got hit a lot there's very little similarity between them.
