I love boxing and like MMA. I have no use for any other sports. If I can't watch a fight I'll watch a movie.
You guys really love boxing?

as in any sport (especially team sports), unless youre a fan of a fighter/team, not many fights/games will interest you.
since our favorite boxers rarely fight enough to satisfy fans, we tend to get ''bored'' with boxing as a whole.Comment

It's the only sport I love and follow, so I'm in for the long haul.
I understand your frustration, though, of having all these good and potentially great fighters, but none fighting each other. Plus all the politicking garbage.
I almost quit a few weeks ago, but my addiction seems terminal!Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 04-30-2018, 12:28 AM.Comment

I still love boxing but right not as much as i did during certain periods like the late 80's to early 90's middleweight and super middleweights and the packed JWW/WW era cotto hatton margarito Williams floyd mosely pac ect
Now it seems like theres just 1 or 2 top fighters in most divisions and a load of mismatchesComment

Being a devoted fan and reading every headline is an interesting experience. It can be really easy to hate the sport at times with all the BS that goes on, but at the same time when you see a good fight or a crazy knockout I can't help but start loving it again. Even when I hate it it's not something I can avoid paying attention to. It has its ups and its downs but it's rarely if ever boring.Comment

Boxing in the uk at present is on something of a high. Partly due to AJ, but also following a number of exciting fighters over recent years, Froch, Brook etc who have been quite positive in seeking challenging fights. There's two promoters competing over rival networks and I've seen some good undercard bouts with little known fighters raising their game.
Yes there's always the political nonsense, artificial beefs, pantomime and non competitive fights to wade through but it was a always the same. It's always been an uneasy mixture of sport and business, sometimes the latter overshadows the former, but you set that the nights when someone digs deep inside themselves and finds a new level and upsets the form book. That moment makes all the nonsense worth it, to me at least!Comment

I can't imagine I'll ever stop following boxing. I remember when I was involved in my last "regular" type relationship living together, working a bs job 40+hrs a week I hated, talking about getting married & doing all the boring couple sh^t regular mfers do & had no time for boxing sh^t at all. I still would be watching clips & highlights on YT, reading stories, buying the random boxing mag & searching for random sh^t & nerding out on boxrec at all the fights I was missing.
So nah I ain't going anywhere.
I will say I somehow got caught up in all this Vegas Golden Knights sh^t, but have been low key keeping that sh^t my dark secret cuz I claim to hate all other non-hitting each other in the head sports. Never watched more than 2 mins of a hockey game in my life before Sept. 2017. Have watched several Golden Knight games since then & have been watching all their playoffs games where they are largely destroying mfers left, right & center (although they dropped a double OT game last night to even their current series at 1-1). So basically combat sports for the first time ever hasn't been getting all my sports love lately I must admit.Golden Knights .... An expansion team. They are not my team but who would have thought at the beginning of the season that they would be doing so well.
My team didn't even make the playoffs!

Pretty much ....
I think if you are a fan of some fighters who have retired or will be retiring or has not been performing well lately, you may lose (some) interest until you latch unto another fighter(s) that you see and like.
For me, I have been very busy of late but still like to watch the sport.Comment
