Either way, name a fighter you actually like but don't often praise because his fanboys just get on your last nerve.

For me, it's Errol Spence. I like the guy. I like watching his fights and find him entertaining and he also seems like a humble well-spoken guy. What's not to like? His fans, when they hype into the best thing since Thomas Hearns. Hey, I like the guy, but he hasn't beaten any special fighters yet. He's passed the eye test but until he fights TC, Thurman, Porter or Garcia, I don't think he's the best welterweight. You have to prove yourself. And it's not just now, the fanboys hyped him up before he even fought Brook as being better than anybody. I mean, that's just crazy.

    Anyway, who are yours?
I don't see too many threads about Errol Spence or don't see that many delusional fans. And it's not crazy to call him the best welterweight, he did beat who many believed to be the number one welterweight in Kell Brooke.

If you want to see loony fanbases, just look at post Lemieux Golovkin, post Hopkins/Pascal Kovalev, current Beterbiev, or any fighter from the Eastern Bloc with more than 10 consecutive kos. That's where the crazies are.

He got hyped prior to the Brook fight because he out performed Floyd in a sparring session. I see no reason why that wouldn't elevate his profile.
Yeah, Spence got plenty of hype before Brook and he's still getting it from what I've seen.

Loma on the other hand, does get plenty but he's got GRJ, Walters and Rigo on the resume and is about to face Linares in his third division. He's not looking for easy fights at all and pushing himself toward greatness even though he doesn't really have to do so. I'm not saying he's the second coming. But his decisions on who he's fighting show a willingness to take risks and go for glory. Spence is doing that as well but his accomplishments thus far are Brook and Peterson, but I mean those pale compared to Loma's imo. I'm sure Spence will get Crawford and a lot of other guys in the ring and all and he's willing to push it too, but Loma's ahead of him right now I think.

But I remember how he was constantly hyped before the Brook fight and all he'd one was dispose of Algieiri and Bundu who aren't exactly world beaters.

But even so, his fans haven't detracted me from being a fan at this point, but they nearly did for a while.

With that being said, I'm a big fan off Usyk, Lomachenko and Gvozdzyk and the whole Lomachenko school in general. But I hate the distasteful fanbase they seem to attract.

            Where are they though?

Wilder was getting no love or hype before the Ortiz fight, from me included.

Because he passed the eye test, his warpath was respectable and there was legends floating around. And the hype was warranted apparently.

Hence why there are virtually no threads about him.

See point 1. And let's not forget the matter in which he disposed of said opponents.

So you're just annoyed that the guy has a few fans among his own countrymen because of what? He did beat arguably the best welterweight in his division, he's barely mentioned by name by his opponents and he sends established champions into hiding.

I think the noise is proportional to his accomplishments, nothing wrong with his people believing in him, after all, a lot of you put your faith behind guys like Bute and Mathysse, yet none of you are Argentinian or Romanian. What gives?

It does always annoy me when an American fighter gets any praise. Here in Tennessee, we don't play that ****.

Errol Spence has grown on me a lot. I like his personality. He seems like a straight up guy, his peers respect him a lot but he's still a g when it comes to it.
