Shelly Wingel exposed himself with the email
Hearn is in the US and wanted to meet to negotiate the fight.3-you made an offer to Wladimir Klitschko to fight Anthony Joshua, did you send a contract? No. After some negotiations Wladimir accepted a revised offer
Team Wilder cancelled the negotiations and concentrates on putting out these ridiculous emails to save face.Comment

Except it's not a right here, right now situation as you've described. Using the same analogy it's more like this.Whilst I do agree with some of your points this situation is not progressing smoothly because of egos.
There is a awful lot of money involved in this fight. I don’t care how famous how many deals you have negotiated no meeting face to face is counter productive... Now not that this is relevant but I play pool sometimes for £1000 a game and the players ask to see my money first . Which off course I have but I feel insulted so I deliberately go on the defensive..... yeah I know who cares but because Finkel in particular does not like Eddie he is not playing ball. Don’t get me wrong Eddie is a weasel but if you ave a fighter that has put you in a position of power there is no way you will relinquish that power until you are 100% satisfied and even then it will be grudgingly. So let’s couple in the fact that Eddie doesn’t necessarily like Finkel either so being told “ agree then we meet” will not cut it
Pool Player 1 (PP1) calls Pool Player 2 (PP2) asking if he'd like to have a $1000 match.
PP2 asks to see the cash first. PP1 says he can show him the cash if he's interested, but won't go to the bank to withdraw it until he at least hears that PP2 wants to do it. If so, he'd be delighted to make the trip and send him a picture.
PP2 insists on seeing the cash first, but still doesn't convey any interest. He wants PP1 to withdraw the money and text him a photo before he decides.
PP1 doesn't want to make the trip without at least hearing that PP2 would like to play the game if the cash is present. It would be a waste of time to go to the bank, fill out a bank slip, wait in line, and take out the money (because the ATM limit is half the amount) for someone who is still undecided and can still say no.
PP2 still won't give an answer and PP1 is only waiting for a verbal confirmation before doing everything on his side. He is only waiting for a yes before doing everything that PP2 has asked for.
At no time have either of them decided on the rules of the match intended, the location, or the date and time. By saying that yes, he's indeed interested in the match PP2 has in no way had all of this decided for him.
PP1 is simply waiting for a yes or no from PP2 before leaving the house. PP1 has the money and can show proof at any time once PP2 has stated that yes, he's willing to move forward if the funds are present. Once proof has been established they can work out the details before moving on to playing the actual game.
In this case Finkel is PP1 and Hearn is PP2. It sounds a lot more ridiculous written this way because it is ridiculous. Especially for the amount of money involved.Comment

Curious if you've ever made a deal on anything before, such as a new car or house. Lenders ALWAYS make you agree to basic terms like price and, if you're financing, interest rate. This fight is no different. Wilder's team need not draw up a full contract for anyone if there is no starting point on basic terms, just as a mortgage lender isn't going to take the time to write up a contract if a buyer hasn't agreed to basic terms. Do you think lenders write up full contracts and present them to random people on the street in hopes that they want to buy a house or car? No, they do not. They talk with a buyer whose interested, come up with basic terms such as price, interest rate, have the buyer sign a good-faith agreement on basic terms, THEN they draw up the contract and supporting docs. If the buyer doesn't like some aspect of the contract, he can further negotiate or back out. I've bought two houses and several cars in my life. I don't see what is unreasonable here.
The issue here is clearly that somebody (Eddie Hearn) does not like losing control of this promotion. That is what's happening here. It's chess and head games between the management, but one side has offered a far greater deal to the other. Forget calling Wilder or AJ scared. The only person scared for their livelihood is Eddie Hearn.Last edited by NachoMan; 04-28-2018, 03:13 PM.Comment
